Our goal with the offboarding process is usually just to make sure users know exactly what features or data they might be losing access to, but it sounds like we might have tipped the scale a little too far into "confirmshaming" territory in your experience. I know that running a medical practice requires your full attention, and dealing with billing disputes is the last thing you want to be spending your valuable time on. I want to assure you that "trapping" customers is never our goal at OptinMonster. We generally use auto-renewal to ensure that our customers' live campaigns—and the leads they are collecting—don't suddenly shut down due to a missed invoice date. That said, we believe in fair billing practices. If you reached out immediately following the renewal, we typically have a refund policy in place to handle these exact situations. I looked into your case specifically, and I am happy to confirm that we did indeed issue a refund in full for that renewal charge. Sometimes there is a slight processing time between us sending the funds and your bank posting them, or perhaps there was a miscommunication in the support thread, but please rest assured that we have honored your request. We never want to keep your money if you aren't using the tool, and we certainly don't want you to feel "trapped." I hope this helps resolve the situation, and we wish you nothing but the best with your practice.

I completely understand how seeing a charge that is different from what you were expecting can be a shock, and I am sorry for the stress that caused! To clarify the price difference, the initial rate you paid was likely a special introductory discount for the first year, which renews at the standard rate.
