Toy-quality glasses that serve a purpose
I've ordered from them several times, purely because I want wraparound sunglasses for motorcycle use and "proper" opticians refuse to sell me any wraparounds with a prescription lens unless I have their extortionate "sports" lenses, at another £200+. Well, so far the ones supplied by OF have closely approximated to my prescription (I feel I have been lucky), sufficient to wear on the bike, and are around one eighth of the price. That said, the durability of the frames are little better than toy glasses. The lenses are squeezed in so tight that one frame snapped spontaneously, and the stress around the edge of the lens causes stress patterns to form. Polarized lenses should be avoided, as the polarizing is patchy and somewhat non-existent in places. This has a weird effect on the brain when an object in a certain point of vision appears differently in each eye. Only positive reviews are shown on their website... I've watched for my "fair" reviews to be visible, but they never are. So the bottom line is that the glasses are pretty rubbish, but at £40 versus £300 to simply be able to see clearly while riding the bike, it has tempted me a few times. I appear to have a couple of pairs that are lasting the test of time, and considering that they get hit with dust, insects, gravel, etc I have always shied away from splashing out on a £300 pair of Rayban/Bolle, which may themselves only last one year. Just don't think these will ever look or perform like quality sunglasses, but as sacrificial riding wear, I think you can get lucky - even though they are still overpriced for what they are
