Paid $49 to see a provider then got a $295 bill. They said they would let me adjust to self pay since they don’t take my insurance that I provided before the visit to $209. But that is the best they could do. The escalation specialist then hung up on me.
Horrible. Would never recommend.

Quoted $400 for a telehealth visit to…
Quoted $400 for a telehealth visit to simply get prescriptions transferred/refilled from a previous physician. This company is a scam, you can get a local doctor to just take care of you for less than half the amount they try to charge you.

$49 video call billed for $430
I got ill while traveling and couldn't easily access urgent care, specifically to get migraine medication. I tried Amazon One Medical and was initially hopeful that this could be the future of telehealth...
The system said the fee for a virtual call with an NP/MD would "start at $49." All I needed was to explain my symptoms and get a prescription, which my Primary Care Provider couldn't do because I was out of state.
The One Medical system found me a provider available within 2 hours. Apparently, right before the virtual call, One Medical tried to reach me to let me know that because I was enrolled in an out-of-state HMO, I would be billed "more than $49." I wasn't checking email or my phone messages because I could barely function and was just waiting for the video call to start.
When the call started, the provider explained the same thing. I asked how much it would cost out of pocket, and she said, "possibly as much as a couple hundred dollars." I was desperate at that point, so I decided to do the call.
The NP was nice enough and did submit the prescription I needed.
The bill: $430.
I sent negative feedback to One Medical, and someone (or something? genAI most likely) messaged me to "clarify the communication and understand my concerns." It said it wanted to set up a video call to discuss. I responded that if they could provide a reason that investing more of my time would be to my benefit-- not Amazon's benefit, not the person's (?) benefit-- then I would consider a call.
Guess what-- they never responded.
Please be very careful using Amazon One Medical. It is not quite what Amazon One Medical claims it is.

I had a great doctor for years and then…
I had a great doctor for years and then Amazon came along and bought the company and ruined everything. Doctor quit and now I'm being told I can't get a refill or anything unless I pay more and more and more. I just requested two refills and was told in two emails that I needed appointments every three months for each RX (x 5) to get refills and blood work in order to get my vitamins, which they sell OTC. WTF? My annual appointment (which I JUST had) has now turned into a required exam every three months. They were clearly not making enough money off of me so I am now going with Sesame. Bezos will have to find another way to fund his wife's horrible wardrobe choices. You cannot AI health care. Robots don't have empathy or compassion and they absolutely will burn your toast.

One OneMedical: apparently telehealth needs a side quest
I went to One Medical telehealth for UTI symptoms because I wanted treatment without dragging myself somewhere while uncomfortable. I got a nitrofurantoin prescription, along with a recommendation to go elsewhere for a urinalysis and culture. So much for convenience.
The recommendation felt like an upsell. If additional testing was necessary in my particular case, that needed to be clearly explained—not leave me wondering whether my straightforward visit was being turned into a shopping cart of extra services. I declined.
Getting a prescription was useful. Feeling like I had to scrutinize the rest of the encounter for add-ons was irritating as hell. Patients shouldn’t finish a medical visit wondering whether they’ve just been pitched the healthcare equivalent of “Would you like to supersize that?”
An underwhelming experience that left me questioning the value of the service. The convenience was the entire reason I used it, and the encounter managed to make that feel like a hollow selling point.

Falsely advertised services for seniors.
I am 77 y/o, transferred to ONEMEDICAL FOR SENIORS 3years ago. I believed them advertisement. In reality, it looks like headquarters never ever inspected offices on the locations. Offices don't have MD and NP on constant staff, nobody checks history, and we, old people, have a rich one of illnesses. Always different names contacted from TEAM!
Where are the best services for SENIORS?
It will be interesting to see feedback for reviewers.

Months of Billing Disputes With No Meaningful Resolution
I had an extremely disappointing billing experience with One Medical.
A very brief telehealth appointment resulted in a bill of nearly $300 before insurance adjustments. I formally disputed the charge and spent months trying to obtain a satisfactory resolution through office management, Billing, coding review, management escalation, and Patient Financial Services.
Instead of resolving my underlying concern, I repeatedly received explanations about insurance deductibles, payment plans, and financial assistance. Those were not what I was disputing.
One Medical told me that the billing had undergone a formal review and was correct, but I remained dissatisfied with both the charge and how my dispute was handled. I was also told the outstanding balance could eventually proceed toward collections while I was still actively contesting it.
After canceling my membership, the existing message thread I had been using for the dispute displayed a notice requiring me to update my membership to respond, further complicating my ability to continue the matter through that channel.
I ultimately escalated the matter outside One Medical after being unable to obtain a satisfactory resolution internally.
Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend that prospective patients ask exactly how a scheduled visit will be billed, what it may cost before insurance, and what options they will have if they later dispute the charge.

Be very careful of their billing…
Be very careful of their billing practice! I had a 15min online conversation as a routine check up with a PN, and was billed for over $500 as an office visit. They refuse to recategorize as a routine visit that should've been covered by the insurance.
