Very expensive and no longer good service - not worth it
One Medical charged me $549 for a 10-minute phone call with a PA who prescribed a generic antibiotic for a sinus infection... literally 10 minutes!!! That is a rate of over $3000/hour.
They refused to recognize how ridiculous that charge was and refund it -- customer service is terrible, just boilerplate responses. Clearly Amazon has crushed whatever was once good about this company. I used to find it convenient and tech-forward -- in the last year I've seen the service decrease (poor hours, poor provider availability) and the charges like this one pop up. This is the end (of the begining) of getting healthcare through Amazon.

Look at Reddit
Look at Reddit. This is an AMAZON owned business, to make money off of the system provided with Covid to provide virtual care and insure providers are compensated. HORRIBLE service, no communication. Do NOT recommend. Partner and I both left 2 different offices. We tried them for 2 years, 2 different sites. All lousy care. No commitment.

Maybe I should charge for my time!
I called One Medical to ask about a Well Visit with a provider to try to get a ballpark price since I was self pay. My previous PCP (haven't seen for 3 years) told me that a Well Visit out of pocket would be around $95 without any testing or additional procedures. I also called an urgent care near me who said first visit, just as a well visit without any testing and procedures is $150. Since I moved really far from my previous PCP and seeing that the price would be within a ball park at One medical (and I was a member, so I figured to take advantage) since was told over the phone it would be between $125 and $175 unless further testing or other procedures necessary, I decided to try it. I had a nice conversation with the provider and while speaking with her I mentioned some past Medical issues that I learned to deal with ayurvedically. In fact, she was unaware of some research done and displayed on the NIH as well as the CDC websites showing some of the medical information she knows have been outdated and updated. A couple of days later, I received a bill that was $470, plus small amount for tax etc. with $180 discount making my total $282.
While speaking with another rep over the phone ref my bill, I was told that I was charged for every information given to the provider while having a conversation with her, a friendly conversation to establish rapport. For instance, I mentioned to her my new diet that is helping me greatly with my thyroid, which is undiagnosed, thyroid autoimmune issue i based on blood testing i did a la cart in December. I was told by the representative that the provider put that information in my file and charged me for autoimmune advice. Which she gave me none. I was the one who mentioned to her, I told her I had taken a test which showed that, but she never saw the test and my issue is still undiagnosed. So either she gave advice based on undiagnosed information that is unproven because she never saw my test, which would be unethical, or I was just having a friendly conversation mentioning it to her in reference to my diet and she used that to blow up the bill. Mind you, the provider I saw wasn't even a doctor, but a nurse practitioner and the reason I made an appointment with a nurse practitioner was because I figured it would be cheaper than a doctor. Joke's on me. The billing rep also added that the lower estimate for the visit only applies to ages less than 40 years old. I was charged at 40 to 60 prices. Ageism much?
I have seen multiple ppl.im their 20s and 30s who have way more medical issues than I do. Their prices are based on age. Oh, and things you say in conversation while building rapport. Don't mention the kids or grandkids for that matter, you might be charged visits for them too!
What I most hate is them providing you with the service and billing you later blindly and now you are held hostage because you can't take back the visit. There are no explanation or advising you (especially knowing you're self pay) that adding information is adding cost. She was just sitting there cha-ching, cha-ching as I was speaking.
That behavior is totally unethical and lacks any transparency. It is shameful. I am canceling my membership and my husband's membership and will never visit any of their providers again.

Ridiculous rate for HDHP
Ridiculous rate for HDHP
If you are on High deductible health plan, One Medical is certainly taking advantage of it.
A 15 min Zoom call with a nurse is $549. With my insurance discount, that is still over $300 I need to pay out of pocket.
A 20 min In office visit is $749. With my insurance discount, it is over $400 I need to pay out of pocket.
I would love to be a shareholder of this business, this is much more profitable than most illegal business...

I had 3 visits at the facility in…
I had 3 visits at the facility in Greensboro, NC…of those 3 visits not 1 was a physical. Always a different doctor, so I never knew who I was gonna see. All they would do was sat down with me at a table in what was supposed to be an examination room and talk and have me complete paperwork about my mental health. NEVER AN EXAM!!! I never knew there was a such a thing as a contactless in office visit. After 3rd visit I quickly called my insurance and had them removed as primary care. I also found out this is a membership so apparently they are getting monthly payments from the insurance company for each member they claim to be caring for. SCAM!!!!

Amazon One Medical horrible customer service.
I was notified that several doctors in a medical practice I had been seeing for years were joining One Medical. I contacted One Medical to make an appointment for my annual CPAP checkup. I inquired and was told I did not have to pay the $199 fee for app access, etc. I proceeded to make the appointment. I received an email confirmation on February 23rd for the appointment on March 4th. I received a text message on March 3rd asking me to confirm the appointment, which I did. I showed up for my appointment 5 minutes early as instructed and checked in. After sitting in the waiting area for a few minutes I was called back to the front desk. I was told then, and not before then, that I was not a member of One Medical and would not be seen until I completed my membership. I was given a phone number to call and after being on hold for several minutes waiting for a response, I had had enough. I was able to speak with my doctor at the front desk and was told he simply couldn’t see me unless I was a member. I left the office and was later able to get through to someone to “complete” my membership. I gave my name and date of birth and the representative immediately found my information. She then proceeded to try to sell me the app access, etc for $199 per year. When I told her I was told that buying app access was not required, she backed off the sales pitch and apparently checked the box that I had endured the sales pitch but refused to pay and my “membership” was now complete. She then transferred me so I could reschedule my appointment, but I again ended up on a long hold. After several minutes, I looked up and called the local office number, but was again dumped into customer no service. So, I drove back to the office. The front desk was able to immediately see that I was now a member and a new appointment was scheduled. I am going to keep that appointment and then find a new provider. Failure to pay Amazon the One Medical $199 annual app fee means you will have to call an inadequately staffed office to make an appointment. No thank you!

One Medical Seniors
I am with One Medical Seniors. I attempted to refill a medcine over a 3 day period. Day1 the phone rang and rang, it was a Wednesday, and they should have been open, no one ever answered. Day 2 I managed, in one of many attempts, to get someone who took a message Day 3 I got a voicemail from the office that my pharmacy's system had been violated. I needed to go in and get a hard copy OR give them a new pharmacy. I spent most of day the reaching out to the office. I called they said they were sending the script, they didn't. Trust me this involved continued efforts to reach someone. I managed over a 5 hour period to talk to someone twice to say my new pharmacy did not have the script. Finally, the after-hours nurse, who was a blessing, managed to get this script filed. I have to say I am not feeling too generous about One Medcal Seniors right now.
