Our firm chose One Legal from among the many efiling services in California because of their reputation in the state for high quality service. They haven't let us down -- their website is fast and easy to use and their support staff, if you ever need them, can be reached on the phone in minutes. We're very happy with our choice.

We have used One Legal at our firm for a number of years and always had a good experience. I love their guides and trainings and the fact that i can reach someone for help over the phone when i need to.

One Legal has always performed well for me. The website’s easy to use, they stay in touch, and filings get delivered.

I placed an order to have a court document retrieved. I never got the document back until 6 days later, the afternoon before the hearing. Had they sent a court runner down there and physically asked for the court file -- which is what I assume their service provides -- I would have gotten my order in a timely manner. 6 days to have a document retrieved from a readily accessible case file is unacceptable. When I called customer service to inquire about my order on day 4, they assured me that my order would be ready later that day or the next day. If so, I would've had enough time then to file a response. I received nothing on day 4 or day 5, not even a phone call explaining why. Had I known OneLegal doesn't have runners physically go down to the courthouse and specifically ask for my particular file, I would have never requested this service from them. Filing deadlines are sensitive and with the money they charged me (over $109 to pull a 7 page document), I expected less stress and aggravation from this company. This isn't the first time they messed up an order but it's certainly the last -- I won't be using OneLegal again and with the number of legal service companies out there, I suggest you don't either. Edit: The case number that I provided was not invalid. Check the case number I provided when I placed the original order and the number I provided when your staff called, it's the exact same. Not being able to pull up the case number is your staff's fault, not mine. Regarding being at the "mercy of the court", I've personally pulled files before myself. You go to the court window and ask the clerk for the file. The clerk gives you the file and you ask the clerk to make copies of whatever you need. That's it. Had your staff done what I just mentioned, they would've been able to pull the file on the same day even despite the delay on Monday. What I don't appreciate is blaming the customer and not taking responsibility for sub-par service. For the $109 that your company charged, I could've just paid somebody else (likely less) to get me the files the same day as opposed to four business days later.

Hi Stan, We’re sorry that we did not meet your expectations regarding your retrieval order. We take all feedback very seriously and strive to do all we can to ensure that our customers are satisfied. That is why, after investigating your comments, we reached out to you via phone to try to put matters right. Regarding your court document retrieval, the order was placed on a Friday at 11:25am, which is after the deadline of 10am. We are closed on the weekends, so there is no one to go to court at that time. On Monday morning, at approximately 8:50am, our branch office reached out to you regarding an invalid case number. You called back at 11:50am to provide additional details. At noon, the copy order was placed at court by one of our court runners – we do physically go to the courthouse and ask for the particular files needed. On Tuesday, you called our customer support department to inquire the status of your order and we let you know that we were waiting for the court to provide the documents. On Thursday, your order was completed at 12:16pm. While we strive to complete court retrieval orders as quickly as we can, it is important to note that we are at the mercy of the court in regard to copy requests. Our runner pulls the file and then must place an order with the records clerk who makes copies for us. It is the court that sets turnaround time for copies and it varies based on their workload. Regards, Lisa, One Legal
