I noticed a difference right away!
I noticed a difference right away, day one, in that I had no real desire to drink. I'm a habitual drinker, meaning once I get home from work, I drink more from boredom than anything else. I decided to start naltrexone to help myself cut back on drinking, but it quickly became apparent that while taking the medication, I am able to control my alcohol intake more that I had hoped for. The only side effect I had to wrestle with was nausea the first day. Thankfully I had a few ondansetron on hand to help, because OTC meds were not working. I would HIGHLY recommend eating a full meal before taking the naltrexone, if the medication makes you nauseous. Side note: I'm taking Clutch, which as I said is working very well for me, but the "mint" flavor is very bitter, and does leave a horrible taste in my mouth.

Congratulations on the remarkable progress you have made! It is so great to hear that you are feeling back in control and have found strategies to manage the initial side effects you experienced. Thank you also for the feedback on the taste of Clutch. We have heard that the bitter taste is a barrier for some and are working with our partners to improve it, so that more people can benefit as you have. Jonathan. Founder, Oar Health.
