It was pretty straightforward. I wish they would add more filters to make the search faster though.

suspension of service resolved
I had suspension of service, which was essential for our operations. We were assisted, and after a few days (just 20 days -too many for our judgment), the problem was resolved.

Hi Omar, I'm glad we were able to get that sorted out for you. Take good care and thank you for the review.

Three problems. No response. Losing Skype number as result [UPDATE: Resolved]
[UPDATED - See original below]
I'm revising the score up to a 4. They did get back to me after all and solved the problem, and I was able to port my Skype number over to Numberbarn even after Skype stopped functioning. I really appreciate the help from Numberbarn's Justin. Thank you Justin!
I'm not bumping the score to a 5 because it did require posting here on Trustpilot to get Numberbarn's attention. Apparently there was an issue with my e-mail address, that it got flagged as spam by Numberbarn's filters. That was a function of the original problem where during signup there was a rather odd issue with my randomly generated password and password manager. This appeared to have happened with other users too.
I think going forward they might need to tweak their spam filters, or have a way to scan their spam folders so that legit emails don't get totally missed.
Other than that, I'm now satisfied with Numberbarn. But if you do experience an apparent lack of response, it may be due to something similar, in which case you might need to post here on Trustpilot to get some attention.
So, new conclusion: overall, recommend.
-------------- Original review (early May): -----------
Three problems.
Set up an account to transfer a Skype number in. Seemed to set up okay, but then there was no way to request authorization for the transfer. Maybe there was a glitch there or something.
Second, and worse, is that I got locked out of the account for some reason. The username and password check, the 2FA I set up checks (different error message when I deliberately input an incorrect code), but then stops there with an "Invalid AccountID" message. Couldn't even log in to their community portal for getting help there.
I sent THREE tickets over the course of 3 days -- NO RESPONSE besides the auto-response for the first ticket. The first ticket was about the problem with requesting authorization. The second I can't remember, and the third about the account access issue. I also sent an email yesterday ago direct to their support line. Again, NO RESPONSE.
If you cannot get a semi-timely response (they promise 1 business day) for a time-sensitive issue, that renders this service subpar at best. Maybe Numberbarn is okay when things are running smoothly, but if you have a problem, don't count on getting timely help.
Cannot recommend.

Hi Jay, thank you for posting this updated review. I know we have opportunity to improve but I'm glad we were ultimately able to get your Skype number ported. And we did take time as a team to celebrate the great work done by Justin. Take care!

Positive Potential with NumberBarn
I recently had the opportunity to purchase a phone number from NumberBarn, and while my experience encountered a few bumps in the road, I appreciate the overall effort of the team and the potential for improvement.
Order Fulfillment
I was excited to secure a new phone number and was initially thrilled that I was promised fulfillment within two hours. While my order did take a little longer than expected, I understand that managing such requests can be complex. I appreciate the hard work that goes into ensuring each order is processed, and I’m hopeful that future customers will enjoy an even quicker service as they streamline their operations.
Customer Service Interaction
When I decided to reach out to customer service, I encountered some challenges. Although the representatives were friendly and made genuine efforts to assist me, there was a bit of confusion regarding my issue. I truly believe that with some further training and support, the team can enhance their ability to provide even more effective assistance in the future. Their willingness to help was evident, and I think they are on the right track!
Communication Opportunities
I noticed that stronger communication about order status would greatly benefit the customer experience. Timely updates would provide peace of mind and help manage expectations during the wait. I see this as a valuable opportunity for NumberBarn to elevate their service even further.
Conclusion
Overall, my experience with NumberBarn was filled with learning moments, and I genuinely appreciate the effort the team puts into their work. While there are areas for growth, I am optimistic that they can become an even more reliable choice for purchasing phone numbers. I look forward to seeing how NumberBarn evolves, and I’m excited about the improvements that are sure to come!

I was Numberbarn mmber for almost 10 years
I was Numberbarn for almost 10 years. At that time, it was the only company that allowed me to park my phone # while I spent my winters in Mexico. This Christmas, I decided to try the competition, a European company that offered call transfers anywhere in the world. Although their system works, their app sucks big time. So after 2 months, I came back to NumberBarn and believe me, I am glad to be back. The Numberbarn app is solid. It permits me to forward all calls to voicemail or to any phone # in the continental US and Canada(+1 country code). It then forwards your messages, SMS or voicemail to your email address, so you never miss a call. You can also use the app to send SMS text or calls to anyone in the US.
You can block phone #'s so no more solicitation calls. 🙂

Overall, really satisfied
Despite glitchy service sometimes (and some people not being able to get messages through to me) number barn was easy and affordable. I'm glad I got to keep my number and (mostly) continue to text with people who just don't use web based texting. Customer service were always quick and helpful as well. I suspect most of my issues weren't specific to numberbarn, rather just this type of service. I'm back stateside and waiting for my number to port out. Thankfully they have a page that tells you all the information you need to give to the carrier- that's super helpful.

I was in the middle of porting a number…
I was in the middle of porting a number to my cell service provider and numbernarn.com went down last Saturday after I initiated the port request. numberbarn.com (the only way to contact them, and manage my account) went 404, and continues that way right now. I have absolutely no idea now whether they are even still in business. All I know for sure is my account is not available so I can't even get the information to answer any questions my cell provider might have. If they are still in business, this is not a way to keep it that way.
Update 5-15-24 - I am glad to hear that you are still in business. I actually appear to have my new number in service today, but your website, and hence, my numberbarn account information, is still inaccessible since sometime between last Friday and last Saturday. I am writing this on the following Wednesday. I am sorry for my fat fingered b/n keystroke that gave you the impression I couldn't spell "barn". I was checking this after midnight last night and wondering if I might ever get to speak to an actual numberbarn employee who might be interested that some portion of the internet was not able to access your website for over 5 days. BTW, numberbarn also doesn't pass the spell checker so I wasn't checking it too close. Take my word for it, it's autocompleting in my browser at this point.
This is my first experience with numberbarn, and you know what they say about first impressions? It just couldn't have happened at a worse time. As a tip of the hat, I have raised my rating to 2 stars. I took a pic of the numberbarn.com still timing out as I write this, but there is nowhere to post a pic here, so I guess you'll have to take my word for it. If I could have gotten to my numberbarn account today, I might have gone as far as 3 or 4 stars, but I'll stick to just 2 for now.
Update 5-16-24 I just checked to see if my account was accessible and there it was. I have upgraded my review to 4 stars as of today because you got the porting completed with no service provider issues, within a few days, as expected, and all is good. The only thing that went off the rails was my access to my account in the middle of it all. One thing I never mentioned in all this is that I also downloaded the app from the playstore on Saturday. It would also sit and spin trying to connect, but never worked either - until today. I tried it today and it now works. I figure 4 stars is about as much as I can give with those significant hiccups, but all is good now. I will use your services again.

Hi Dwight, we are definitely still in business and I've reached out to you asking for more information. I did notice that you misspelled our website as "numbernarn.com" once in this post which might partly explain the 404 error? Regardless, we are here to help you port your number.

Thank you for your response. Please reply to the request for more information from TrustPilot so a member of our team can assist you. Preferably let us know the telephone number you purchased and/or a ticket number or email address by which we can find you. I just sent an email to the last Dwight that contacted our support team and am hoping it's you. I hope to hear from you soon. ~Jeremy
