Your policy is way to expensive in…
Your policy is way to expensive in relation to how my boats valued sureveyed. I was also told after questioning the percentage off the hull value that the policy is based on comps. Why would my bot it it’s condition be based on the sale of other boats. I also work on boats for a living and have repairs the three other passport 42 that sold this year. They sold for well over 100k but that’s all you would cover me for. Very frustrating. I have never heard of this procedure before. I was also told the rates are high due to wild fires and hurricanes. We don’t sail in Florida and are not near hurricanes so that excuse really doesn’t fly. Over very unsatisfactory.

Hello Jack. The underwriter decides the hull coverage limit not Novamar. I agree in this market a well maintained Passport 42 would fetch more than $100,000, but that is the maximum hull coverage limit the underwriter would agree to. Your policy includes extended navigation as far south as Manzanillo, Mexico and is over 30 years old, the insurance markets are very limited.

I like my agent however
I like my agent however, having coverage for some time now and no claims, I still am required to jump through all sorts of hoops to get coverage. That said, my agent has worked hard to get me the coverage I needed and her service has been excellent.
