Hello Jack. The underwriter decides the hull coverage limit not Novamar. I agree in this market a well maintained Passport 42 would fetch more than $100,000, but that is the maximum hull coverage limit the underwriter would agree to. Your policy includes extended navigation as far south as Manzanillo, Mexico and is over 30 years old, the insurance markets are very limited.

Hello Bonietta. When you purchased the insurance coverage, it was explained to you that the policy would exclude damage due to a Named Windstorm. You signed and returned the disclosure form to our office. The print was not small and you seemed to understand the coverage conditions when you purchased the policy and when you called to report hurricane damage from Hurricane Ian. As you know, options for yacht coverage in Florida for boats over 40 years old is very limited. I am sorry you felt our staff member's tone was abrupt, for which I apologize. Our staff in all of our offices in the USA and Mexico were very busy handling Hurricane Ian claims for our clients so it has been a stressful couple of weeks for our clients and staff.

Coverage for large yachts over 30 years old located full time in Florida without a full time licensed captain is very limited. Unfortunately, our underwriters will not quote terms without the information we requested via email due to the very tight yacht insurance market. There is limited capacity for boats moored in Mexico, especially during hurricane season. Let us know if we can be of assistance.
