We recently sold our business & have processed our final payroll thru NewtekOne. We began using Newtek for our payroll in July 2016. Service has been above excellent. Our rep, Shannon Reese has always made me feel like I was her only customer! Any time I had questions or concerns, she always responded immediately & thoroughly. She walked me thru anything I was unsure of. We would not have stayed with the same company for so many yeas if it was not for the excellent customer service that we always received. She is definitely an asset to the team.

Shanna went above and beyond to help me out; she called in reinforcements and handled it professionally and politely. She was a joy to speak with.

Gretchen was super friendly in addition to being very knowledgeable. She answered all my questions, and I feel very comfortable using the Gateway now. She took what could have been a dry orientation to an enjoyable time.

NewtekOne’s process is extremely disorganized. There is clearly no internal coordination between teams—documents are requested multiple times, even after being uploaded and confirmed. It feels like no one is actually reviewing the file properly. Communication is even worse. Emails go unanswered for weeks, and when responses do come in, they often don’t address the actual questions asked. For a lender handling business funding, this level of responsiveness is completely unacceptable. What’s most concerning is the amount of time wasted. After going through their lengthy process, submitting full documentation, and complying with every request, the application was ultimately declined with vague, generic explanations that don’t align with the information provided. It gives the impression that decisions are either poorly reviewed or made without a clear understanding of the business. If you value your time, avoid this lender. There are far more professional institutions that communicate clearly, respect your effort, and operate with a structured underwriting process. NewtekOne needs serious improvements in organization, communication, and accountability.

Very easy instructions and very easy setup with virtual credit card terminal. Gretchen was very helpful and efficient. Newtek is a great bank to work with from Banking to Lending, and even to Merchant services. I am very pleased with everyone there.
