NeedTags is not owned or operated by any government agency and charges fees for value-add DMV services pursuant to CVC Section 1685. UPDATED - Dear Holly, as suggested previously, we recommend you contact our customer care department. It is impossible for NeedTags to have issued you registration without first having paid the DMV. Your assumptions are not correct and we're afraid you may be decimating misinformation. We are available to sort out your concern at your convenience, Monday through Friday 10am to 5pm. ORIGINAL - Dear Holly, we suggest you connect with our helpful customer care department. From your review we gather you received your vehicle's registration, meaning the DMV was in fact paid. It is unclear to us based on your review alone the circumstances of your concern. Considering your interaction with our company was in December of last year, perhaps the DMV fees you are referencing are for this current year? We are unsure at the moment but would love to find out. We are here to assist you Monday through Friday during normal business hours and look forward to speaking with you soon.

All fees are displayed to our customers prior to checkout, and we include the breakdown of the fees in the invoice we email you once your title transfer is processed... along with your instant DMV registration e-card download. We would like to inform our users, and the general public, that NeedTags displays all fees prior to checkout (as required by California law and DMV Business Partner Automation regulation), and we include the breakdown of all fees in the invoice we email you immediately after checkout, along with your instant DMV registration e-card attachment. Furthermore, NeedTags retrieves registration fee data from the DMV database in real-time and payments made to us are immediately transferred to the California Department of Motor Vehicles.
