I had to order a master cylinder for my RestoMod 1957 Chevy. Due to the modifications, this was not a part that kept in house. 5 stars for customer service! The parts guys were very helpful in finding the correct part for the car. They were friendly and very knowledgeable. Great customer service. Now the bad…..so the master cylinder was a new part…..not remanufactured. It was in a NAPA box and so I was genuinely happy when I picked it up. Got home and began the process of bleeding the new cylinder. As soon as I filled it, the brake fluid began running out the brake line ports. Obviously a bad cylinder from the manufacturer. I know stuff like that happens, but I had higher expectations of parts with the NAPA name on the product. While gathering up the box and interior wrappings, I spotted on the label….”Made in China”. Of course when I took it back, they made good on it and ordered another from a different manufacturer. So again, totally happy with the customer service. I would still rather buy my auto parts from a NAPA dealer, but I have to say to corporate NAPA….. Do Better with the souring of your parts. I’d rather pay a little more for a quality part than have to worry about out of the box or short-term failure after the install.

The Good: Other parts stores mostly seem to have the exact same parts; NAPA often has stuff they don't. The Bad: Online order pricing. My recent order showed three different prices, depending on whether your believed the email from PayPal, the email from NAPA, or what PayPal showed when the dust had settled. All other businesses get this right, so I don't want to hear the excuses. Also, they often fail to send a "Your NAPA Order is Ready" email, no matter how long you wait. It's happened to me multiple times, so it's a real issue that needs to be fixed. The Ugly: Sometimes the site is wrong about which parts will and won't fit your car. After doing my homework, I bought a tail-light socket they said wouldn't fit; it fit perfectly. They weren't offering any other option.
