AVOID!!! Read all the negative reviews. The absolute worst. Broken system. Broken UX. Overpriced fees. Repeatedly, takes weeks to get a reply from a customer service ticket. Took 5 months to get my money out of the 401k. This business operates like its 1992. My financial advisors are the ones who recommended i use Ubiquity, and I've since fired them both. A thousand better options out there.

Hi Michael, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback — we’re sorry your experience didn’t meet expectations. While certain aspects of plan transitions and provider integrations can be complex, we recognize that delays in communication and resolution made things more difficult on your end. Your experience highlighted areas where we needed to improve how we manage integration updates and support escalations, and we take that seriously. We’ve since implemented changes to reduce response times, increase transparency during plan transitions, and better support sync issues with integration platforms. Feedback like yours is critical in helping us continue to improve how we serve our customers. If there’s anything still outstanding, we’d welcome the opportunity to connect and ensure everything has been fully resolved. Sincerely, The Ubiquity Team

Very responsive when you sign up. but then nearly impossible to contact or get help. Recently merged our comany and can not get anyone to help close out our account to roll over to new fund. The response times are horrific and nearly non existent. Can not get a live voice on the phone. There are better options and this is not one of them. They also pull 401K funds from payroll/corporate bank account but do not deposit into employee accounts for sometimes 6-8 business days - this is ridiculous in times of instant wire transfers.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your recent experience hasn’t met expectations — especially during a time of transition for your business. We understand how frustrating it can be when things don’t go smoothly, and we appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns. We want to clarify that a service termination form was emailed to you on April 16 to help finalize the account closure. This step is part of a newer procedure, and we understand how it may have caused confusion. Our team is already reviewing your case and will reach out directly to ensure this gets resolved promptly. We also hear your concerns around response times and fund processing. These are critical areas, and we’re actively working on improvements to provide a better client experience — especially during times of change like mergers. Thank you again for your candid review. Your feedback is helping us identify and fix gaps so we can better support businesses like yours in the future.

We’re sorry to hear your experience during the plan exit process didn’t meet expectations. We understand that transitions and related fees can be frustrating, and we regret any inconvenience this caused. We aim to provide clear, upfront communication, including transparent fee disclosures outlined in your plan documents. When stop payments and check reissues are requested, additional fees may apply, as noted in our disclosures and throughout the support request process. While we offer support through phone, email, and chat, we’re always working to improve accessibility and response times. We appreciate your feedback as it helps us continue to enhance the support experience.

Managing retirement plans is inherently complex, and our team recently faced an internal audit that led to a new focus on monitoring our plan year-end 5500 count. For three months, I had the pleasure of working closely with Gabe Ward, CS Specialist at Ubiquity Retirement Services, and his support was an incredible relief. I can't recommend him highly enough. Gabe maintained regular communication with me as updates became available and ensured that we stayed on track. The project involved three major efforts: initiating force-outs, managing under-$30 de minimis amounts, and addressing all related actions to bring our 5500 count below the audit threshold. Gabe listened effectively, documented case notes meticulously, and collaborated effectively with the internal team. His professionalism, attention to detail, and ability to navigate complex plan actions were critical to our success. Thanks to Gabe's partnership, we now have a proactive approach to monitoring the count and managing our plan. I truly appreciate his dedication to making the 'projects' a success, his consistent follow-through, and his deep expertise, transformed a potentially overwhelming process into a manageable and successful endeavor. Gabe's efforts ensured the project was completed smoothly, helping us achieve our goal of reducing below the audit threshold. Gabe is a true asset, and I look forward to continuing our work together.

I strongly advise any small business considering myubiquity for their 401k to run the other way. They lied from the start. The salesperson told me they integrated with my payroll company so contributions would be automatic. They did not. For a year I had to manually make all my employees contributions, wasting a bunch of my time. Finally after a year they said they'd built payroll integration. But it was so buggy it was a nightmare. Each pay period they contributed incorrect amounts for each employee. My employees were understandably upset. Then when I asked them to correct the mistakes, they wanted to charge me a fee for each change! What made it even harder is they don't respond to their emails. Usually I'd have to email a few times, chat, and call before getting an answer to anything. The icing on the cake is when I finally decided to take my business elsewhere they have put up as many roadblocks as possible and charge me as many fees as possible. They charge a $1000 termination fee and despite the fact that I am now using another 401k provider they are continuing to charge my credit card $529 per quarter. I also run a business, and if I make a mistake I do everything I can to make it right by my customer. Their business model seems to trap you and grab as much money as they can from you before you run for the hills.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the frustrations you’ve experienced. While we worked to address these issues with your payroll provider, we recognize that delays and communication lapses created unnecessary challenges. A team member will reach out to resolve any outstanding concerns. Your feedback is invaluable, and we are committed to strengthening our processes to better serve our clients.
