Well made scanner, easy to use with free updates. Also like the accessories that are compatible like the TPMS programmer and the Key Programmer. I have two 892BT scanners and love them.

I couldn’t ask for better customer support than what MuCar offers for their products and the products themselves OMG I had been looking for a really good bi-directional scan tool that could do more than just read and clear DTC’s the complication being that I’m a mechanic by trade but due to a spinal cord injury my career came to an early end and with the economy and cost of living going absolutely crazy I started to do the lion’s share of maintenance and repairs to my wife and i’s vehicles adopting the rule of thumb building off the if you have to borrow a tool more than once you need to buy it (I normally go with if I have to borrow it for a second time and it’s an unrelated need I won’t be asking a third time it’ll be in my toolbox or on route) and my new rule is if the cost of the tools is less than or equal too the price of the labour to have the job done for me and I am capable of doing the job outside as I don’t have a building large enough to accommodate automotive repairs and I don’t have an automotive hoist (tho I do have a drive on for motorcycles) so I have to be able to do it in my driveway with a floor jack in an off grid setting and I trade buy and sell tools all the time…. I’m basically set up better than most apprentices so on top of my truck and my wife’s terrain I’m always willing to help out friends family and neighbours it gives me something to do at my own speed if it takes half a day to change 4 tires (already installed and balanced) nobody is going to complain because they’re getting professional level work done and it’s only going to cost the price of parts “shop supplies” and a slice or two of pizza so I had the creader elite 3.0 Toyota edition it was pure luck it ended up in my possession but I don’t own Toyotas and my parents are 450kms. Away but it allows you to purchase the license for other makes and models on a subscription service mind you that’s about 70$ per license per year so seems as we both have GM products that was the first thing I did and I have no problem with the product but it was useless for anything that I hadn’t paid for beyond the basics of any generic 15$ obd2 code reader is capable of doing and as a DIYer to take care of my own needs nothing more i would have been more than enough and I really liked the UI but being that I do a hand full of non GM diagnostics and repairs along with my own vehicles and was starting to run into some situations like doing the rear rotors and pads /one full caliber replacement on a 13 ford fusion that I wouldn’t have been able to put into rear brake maintenance mode without having to fork out 70$ Canadian for the license to use the creader on a ford now if I don’t have anyone else ask me for a hand on a ford then I’m out that 70$ for a subscription I needed once more or less to give myself something to do and help someone out and as I went deeper down the rabbit hole I began to see that 75% of scan tool manufacturers are worse for cost of ownership than cordless power tool manufacturers are where the batteries are often more expensive than the tool they’re running as far as updates and subscriptions are concerned many are just as cost effective to replace with a brand new unit in 2-3 years than it is to pay the annual subscription for updates etc. after that initial free upgrade period and that’s not even considering the special features and upgrades that’s when it came across MUCAR we’re talking a flagship model for under $1000 Canadian with a lifetime free updates no that’s something that caught my eye so I bought the V07S the specs were a second and none and it was 50% off and then before that one had even arrived. I found a brand new 892 BT for $100 more than the functionality difference night and day so I pulled the trigger and after talking to my brother-in-law who recently opened his own independent service shop and had been in the market for a good scan tool made him the offer of taking that over instead of me, having to send it back by that point the sale had passed he was getting a great discount. He was saving me the headache and I help out when needed around the shop and my toolbox is always open when he needs to borrow something odd that he doesn’t have so I’m legitimately floored at just what these machines are capable of doing how much they can do he had been sat on an AUTEL, which is more or less the gold standard in aftermarket scan tools. Also, one of the most expensive but it’s what he had experience with at the dealership that they had for used cars and trade-ins, but after the first week of having the MUCAR, he told me no uncertain terms that it offered identical vehicle coverage and could do just as much if not more than the particular model that the dealership he had worked at for most of his career while being free updates and half the price technical support is absolutely amazing. I own a 689bt an love the tool there appears to be a lot of secrecy regarding a forthcoming topology mapping update. I could do with the update to diagnose a comms fault but can't seem to get any answers from support of if/when it's actually coming or if it's going to fall outside the promised lifetime updates and be a paid addon, which I can't really afford being a diy user. Great tool but not so convinced about support.
