I have submitted 3 songs over the last 6 months and I still haven't had diagnostics. One opportunity I submitted to I was lucky to get some response but others, still pending. Considering you have to pay for diagnostics before you can submit anything, and honestly that was one of the main draws for me using the site, I feel this should be a priority for supposed labels/ reviewers. It's hard enough to get anyone to listen or show interest in us as indie artists and if we are going to pay to get feedback then we should be getting that feedback.

Been using music X-ray for 3yrs now
Been using music X-ray for 3yrs now. I have submitted time & time again. I haven’t gotten any responses & most of submissions are still pending years later. I would have been better off in just getting in my car, going for a drive, rolling down my window, & just throwing money out! Never again!

I have to say disappointed to see so…
I have to say disappointed to see so many negative reviews. I have to leave a positive one to share my experience i feel it has been what i expected. I submit pretty regularly and have gotten 3 publishing contracts from contacts I've made on music xray. To date i have only generated any income from one such contract, and i calculate by what i make from the royalties and how much i have spent on submissions i've just about broken even, maybe i made about $100 at the most in profit. I did not expect to get rich from my submissions on music xray. I just wanted to get my foot in the door, learn how to better myself and eventually get to the level where i'm earning consistent royalties from my music. Music xray is just one of the many tools i use and i think it's a useful one to get heard by people in the business that can tell you if your music can cut it or not. I've learned what music works and what doesn't an i keep getting closer and closer to getting one of those big $10,000 deals. I think artist forget that we are in a competitive field. There are a lot of talented artists out there and sometimes their music just edges out over yours, not because it's better but maybe their recording sounds a little more professional or maybe it just fits what the music professional needs a little bit better. sometimes your music just isn't up to par and you should just realize that and improve yourself.

Not paying their reviewers. Customer support solving requests without replying.Total Scam!
Title says it all. Haven't seen a payment from them in almost a year and they owe us more than 200$. Contacted them through their support a few times, they close/solve the requests without even replying. Don't waste your time or money with them. If you are a musician or blog, invest your money on Submithub instead. You will get real results. They are professional, they pay what they owe you in less than 48h and if you have an issue they will also reply in less than 48h. STAY AWAY FROM MUSICXRAY!

One of the arists on musixray (not A.
I paid, i have been picked by a Producer, nothing happened for a year
Well i spent like around 200$ in overall on this service.. Submitting just a few songs. One of them has been picked by James Sanger.
He gave me his skype and we spoke about the next moves. After one year of waiting as he said that he is busy with different projects, i have asked if we actually going to do anything and he stopped to reply. I asked for cancelling my sumbission which happened but no refund was applied. I have asked for refund for all my current submissions, as they were hanging there for a year and i received no response from either musixray admin or the producers and proffessionals. THIS IS FAKE SERVICE. Another track was picked as well for "Radio Show" which no one is listening.. This service is pure fake just a business to poor artists which just want to be recoginized or get a placement. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY PEOPLE

Warning
Warning! This is a scam site. I signed a contract with the condition that I pay 1700 dollars for the off chance that I get a licensing contract. When I said I couldn't pay I was threatened to be black listed. This is the kind of MIP's they deal with. Stay away from them and stay away from Alex Roberts. He did 6 years in a federal prison for tax fraud when he was a part of Death Row records. I should have known this guy was trouble when I investigated his background. Shame on me. I used to get regular services through them for several years and had gotten some great reviews. I have two songs in the needle stack. Ever since the situation with Alex Roberts I have heard nothing from musicxray. I've contacted them several times and nothing. My songs aren't being listened to at all. I have several songs that are still pending and should have been listened to a long time ago. This is what happens when you don't play their game. Because I decided not to be a victim I am obviously paying a heavy price. This is how musicxray treats artists. Disgusting

Very poor move, highly unprofessional.
We've been working with MusicXray as industry professionals for the past years. So we're one of the parties involved "on the other side" of the platform, not artists, but those where things end up that artists submit on their platform. It's always been a good opportunity to get in touch with singers, songwriters and producers of all kinds. We've been in a good relationship and it's always been a pleasure to seek talent on musicxray.
This changed when they had a sort of company takeover, at least something changed behind the scenes. It went downhill in no time. As industry professional you're being paid a cut of the money that artists spend for submitting their music.
They began to delay payouts, always excused it with the accounting would be working hard on it in order as requested payouts. Months passed upon requesting the payout over and over again, when we finally had enough and asked for our right.
Just to make things clear; they earn money by artists submitting to opportunities of industry professionals, whilst those get a cut from the earnings. We're not talking about a couple of dollars but about a couple of hundrets of dollars. So it's a shared business and as industry professional who basically generates their own income, you have a right to demand the money you make. They delayed, delayed, delayed. Upon being sick of waiting for 4 and more months for the requested payout, asking to speak their CEO for further discussion, it was forwarded to Mr. Mike McCready (CEO) who without a comment kicked us out.
We received our requested and rightfully earned money, and got banned from their platform after years of cooperation. That's how professional they are. They keep your earned money and if you ask for it, you're being delayed for months over months, if you dare to getting tired of the situation, you're 'fired'.
Good job Musicxray, hopefully not too many artists will fall for this anymore. Highly unprofessional and inacceptable behaviour as supposedly serious company. You may kick us without leaving a comment to us, but we won't leave without making this public, not only here. If you're willing to talk about the situation, we're down to rethink this and further publications, for sure not everything went right but it really isn't great, you're acting like this, Mike. It would be great if we would find a way to solve this issue, instead of ending it like this.

too many suspects
I'm a musician who used Music X ray to get placements. Well, I will be cautious, but I strongly suspect that these are thieves. Paying $ 25 to send a song that is not reviewed and perhaps not even heard seems to me only a robbery. The funny thing is that 10 of these $ 25 are used to pay for an elusive feedback service. In practice the songs sent should be listened to by people who are paid to do so, and based on the number of plays a score is given to your piece. The ridiculous thing is that the listeners despite the promises received are never paid for it. Just go and see internet forums to see how many people complain about it.
They attract artists with ads in which they look for songs in which the amount of compensation appears in plain sight, which can even reach 10,000 $ per song. So an artist thinks: "Ok, I spend 25 $ dollars but I have the chance to earn 10,000 $". What I think is that your money goes to the manager of Music X Ray (he is a well-known guitarist and I could call him by his first and last name) and the company making the selection.
This does not mean that there are placements that have worked, but the amount of money they steal cannot justify this.
