Zooming and cropping, even with auto feature off. Color is way off.
Ordered hundredsss of 4x6 prints for the very first time (with another order of hundredsss on the way). I did not choose the 'recommended' auto feature because I wanted nothing zoomed in on or cropped, and that is what I expected. Customer service rep told me my pictures would've been better suited for 5x7s, if I didn't want any zooming or cropping, and that had I chosen the auto feature, that would've made things worse. It seems the auto-zooming/cropping occurs on 4x6s whether you choose the auto feature or not, like it or not. I was told I should've manually adjusted each picture, but apparently, even that wouldn't have prevented zooming and cropping, only 5 x 7s. Bottom line, I was under the impression that my prints would look identical to my original photos by bypassing the auto feature. Also, I'm noticing my deceased cat's cool grey fur looks warm-ish in a lot of pictures. Green, like really green grass looks yellowish-green, Windex-blue September skies look a muted greenish-blue or some color I can't describe (tornado green?), a cloudy November day at dusk looks warm-ish, and snow is cream-colored, not that pure cool-ish white. I searched all over for a picture of my cat that was taken with only the blue hue of the TV screen at night and couldn't find it. I was searching for blue. I finally found it. It looks milky, no blue. I wanted that blue, too, because he used to wait for me to come night night. Did they run out of blue ink? Was there some box I needed to check to keep colors identical to those taken? Some pictures seem a little blurry, too. You really should let your customers know that photos taken on a phone are totally different from photos taken on a digital camera of yesteryear when nothing needed to be adjusted, just ordered. Make it easier for dumb people like me so that we realize there will be zooming and cropping when pictures were taken on a phone, though I've no idea if there's any way around this other than sizing up. I ordered from mpix after watching a YouTube video comparing several labs, mpix said to be most true-to-color. That is not the case. Customer service offered me 50% off full-price reprints, when I'd bought them on sale. I pay shipping. A prepaid return label for those I wanted to return. I spent a lot of money on these pictures, even on sale, and I'm not happy at all. I've never had color issues before, even when I've ordered through CVS. Too much back and forth with customer service, too. I'm not a professional photographer, am a new customer, and assumed my pictures wouldn't be zoomed in on and cropped to fit a 4 x 6. If I had known that, I'd have ordered fewer pictures and 5 x 7s of a few favorites instead. Even adding items to the cart. I didn't realize I, basically, needed to add them twice and wondered why I kept losing uploads. My daughter was happy with them, but she ordered mostly larger prints and knew what she was doing. I did not. Worried about my second order now.

Hi CEA. Thank you for detailed feedback. I'm truly sorry your first order didn't reflect the quality we aim for — especially on photos of your cat. I understand our Customer Service Lead reached out to you yesterday to try and sort through the issues with your prints and make things right. Our goal is for our customers to love their prints - especially those of the people and pets you cherish the most. I'm sorry for the extra back-and-forth, and I hope we can leave you with a better impression than this first order did.
