Just completed phase 1, time to leave a review
I felt it was time to leave a review of MoveU. I signed up last November after having to quit CrossFit because of recurring injuries and the admission that my mobility was poor and I was just building compensatory movements into my training. I'm 4-5 months in and have just finished phase 1. Phase 1 introduces you to the basic concepts of how your body should move, how your posture should look and how to engage with every part of your body. I definitely have the most amazing awareness of my body because of this course. I cant fault the content, the exercises, the presentation, anything with the movements at all in fact. Motivation is down to you. You get a weekly progress email but no one is going to be on your back telling you to move. Motivation is very personal to each person and you either have it or you don't. I will say that if you struggle to see any progress or experience any breakthroughs then motivation can become hard to come by because you start to question if what you're doing is working. So why the 3 stars? for me one simple word...Facebook. The idea and the intention of the founders of MoveU is to engage within the community that is created on Facebook groups. You film yourself completing the exercises, post them to FB and then receive feedback from other users and most of the time one of the MoveU coaches. You are encouraged to post, to make friends and tag people in your uploads and in return be tagged your self and leave feedback for others. For me I have issue with this concept. Facebook is either loathed or loved. I loath it. Everything it stand for as a company to the "in your face" way it operates. Even creating a fake name and simply using FB for MoveU as they recommend doesn't protect you from the constant rubbish in the news feed, adverts and reminders to do more on FB. Posting, commenting and engaging with the community can also be as time consuming as doing the actual movements and the group of people i initially made friends with and tagged in my postings dwindled from a lack of FB engagement on my part to the point where I have continued with the program but stopped posting to FB. So how could they improve it? 1. Ditch FB. There are dozens of social media platforms you can integrate into your main site. Most people have similar things in the workplace such as Slack or Yammer. 2. More qualified MoveU coaches leaving feedback and less community members. I value feedback from experienced coaches more than Joe public. 3. Phase 1 and Phase 2 have all the content you should need yet there is a significant amount that the other coaches post and provide alternatives from the source material. If they're that good post them officially to the main site. I don't want to have to search in FB for them. I'm just starting phase 2. Yes I'm still in pain, no MoveU has not resolved any of my issues yet but the course is good and I'm sticking with it in the hope that the understanding I now have of my body and how it should move will eventually click into place. 3.5 stars from me, not great but more than average.

Hi Joe, Thanks for sharing your thoughts. We understand that a big part of your review of the MoveU Program revolves around participating in the private Facebook community. This is where members in the program are able to share videos and learn more about how they can improve their bodies through interacting with other members in the group and also with the MoveU Coaches. To quickly (or maybe not so quickly) address your points made from our point of view: 1) Currently, Facebook is the platform that we believe helps to facilitate the learning and transformation of our members in the BEST possible way. Until we can find or create a better solution, this is where the community will be hosted. 2) We are working to create a Coaches Certification Program to train more and more MoveU Coaches all around the world to help the many members in the community as the program membership continues to grow. We are intrigued by the possibility of having these coaches be available to meet in person for private sessions when needed. 3) Just like our bodies, our program is continuously making improvements. We recently upgraded our program platform and redid ALL of the videos in the program. Our coaches are in constant communication with us to share what is working well for the members in the program when it comes to cues, modifications, additional exercises, etc. More videos are going to be made and will be included in the supplemental exercise libraries. We encourage you to keep working through the program, just as you mentioned. It is fine that you are not fully out of pain. There is still a lot of strength to be gained as you entered Phase 2 and there will be room for improvements to be made on the fundamentals in Phase 1. This is the normal course of the journey that we expect our members to go through. You have to keep working hard and be consistent over time, and the results that you are looking for can come. Patience with the program will be your best friend. We'd love for you to think more about your relationship with being on Facebook and see the opportunity for yourself that has resulted in the amazing transformations for so many members in the program who have participated in the community. So many lives have been changed through the program and the community and we would hate to hear that you are not achieving the highest possible results that you want simply because of not wanting to join a Facebook group. We believe in YOU! Keep MUvin! Bobby MoveU Team
