Had a repair issue on one of our Slate E bikes. A brake handle failed causing the bike to sense the brakes were on. Mokwheel support worked with me to troubleshoot the issue. Took a couple try's to get the correct part but I was up and biking again in a short time.

Ich habe bedingt durch mein hohes Körpergewicht lange nach einem "bezahlbaren" Fahrrad gesucht, das mit meiner Körpermasse zurecht kommt. Das Mokwheel Basalt war eines der ersten Räder, die zumindest anhand der Specs damit klar kommen würde (180kg Systemgewicht). Zudem handelt es sich, auch wenn ich danach gar nicht gesucht habe, um ein E-Bike, was bei dem aufgerufenen Preis kaum besser hätte sein können. Ich habe dennoch lange gehadert, da die Marke Mokwheel bisher recht unbekannt in Deutschland ist und auch in größeren Fahrradhäusern nicht gelistet wird. Umfangreiche Recherchen im Internet und das Sichten diverser Erfahrungsberichte und -videos haben mich dann doch überzeugt, das Rad zu kaufen und ich habe es bisher nicht bereut. Da ich das Rad selbst eher als Sportgerät sehe und bestenfalls auf der geringsten Unterstützungsstufe fahre, verlange ich dem Motor nicht viel ab. Dennoch gibt er ordentlich Schub, wenn er soll. Bei größeren Steigungen ist trotzdem ordentlich Beinarbeit gefragt. Für mich ist das fein - es handelt sich hier immerhin um ein Fahrrad und nicht um ein Motorrad. Einziges Manko, was ich nach und nach feststellen musste, ist die Qualität der verbauten Schrauben. Diese nutzen sich an den Fassungen relativ schnell ab, sodass ich einige im Lenker-Bereich (für Höhen- und Winkelverstellung von Griffen etc.) bereits umständlich ausbauen und austauschen musste. Hier könnte man vielleicht noch etwas mehr in besseres Material investieren. Den Kundenservice musste ich bisher noch nicht kontaktieren, habe aber auch hierzu bereits viel Gutes gelesen und bin guter Dinge, dass auch mir kompetent und zufriedenstellend geholfen wird, sollte es mal nötig sein. Alles in Allem bin ich bisher sehr zufrieden mit dem Rad und freue mich über jede Ausfahrt, die ich mitnehmen kann.

EDIT 8/27/25 Support team reached out quickly and helped resolve my error. The bike is back in working order! Updating to 4 stars (would go 4.5 if i could) EDIT 8/25/25 What started as a great experience has turned into a nightmare. First, the plastic battery harness shattered when removing the battery. Mokwheel support has agreed to replace this for free, but the part doesnt arrive until September (was ordered early july). I keep the bike in a shed with the battery inside the house. I dont believe a quality connection would have broken so early in ownership of the bike. Fine. One small part seemingly non-critical part (bike still ran), and the support team tried to make it better which i appreciated. However, the issues have compounded. Recently, my bike started giving error code for faulty brake lever connection. I looked up a guide and resolved the fault, or at least got the brake lights to turn back off. Now the PAS and throttle have stopped working. The motor refuses to drive the chain at all. The bike is essentially useless. I tried bleeding the brakes and adjusting the brake lever sensors, but no luck. Both brakes otherwise work well and i bled them for good measure. Still no luck. I reached out to mokwheel support and am waiting to hear back. My bike has essentially stopped working. I’ve put over 400 miles on the Mokwheel Basalt 2.0 so far, and I’ve been really impressed with how well-made and reliable it’s been. Shipping was smooth, and the packaging protected the bike well. Assembly wasn’t too difficult—it was up and running pretty quickly. The performance has been solid. The bike gets up to 28 mph if you’re pedaling hard with PAS 4 or 5, which is more than enough speed for most rides. Battery life and power delivery have both been consistent, and the overall build quality feels durable and dependable. Definitely a great value for the price. Would recommend to anyone looking for a sturdy, fast, and well-built eBike.

Some little scratches when delivered. Got some discount on the bike though. Very like the bike, its powerfull and the Batterie last long. But the support of the engine could be more fine-tuned. In spite of that its lot of fun using it!

The Mokwheel slate rides well, easy to use and assemble. We have 2 Slates!! The battery that came with my Mokwheel was defected. I reached and they sent me a brand new battery free of charge.

Good experience so far with Mok Wheel. Had a connection error but they sent a new controller unit and then a new display to fix the problem. I did have a broken mirror that they refused to replace, it was shipped fine but broke when I was installing it.

Love the bike in every way! Lost one star because he ‘ghost peddling’ issue that occurs at about 23-24 mph. I solved the problem by installing a new 52t crankshaft. This solved the problem, I now can torque ride the Basalt over 30mph without ghost peddling. ALL other features about the bike are wonderful, comfortable (I’m 6’2”, 230lbs, 60 yrs old) and an all around great bike.
