Really love this team. My husband and I have been running successful campaigns for building our fans and we have gone from 300 fan group members when we started to almost 2,000 in 12 months. These are real people who chose to join our private FB group as a result of what MM taught us. We get orders for our merch and connect with them weekly.

Taking the Gold Artist Program at Modern Musician was a big step in my music career. I learned a lot of valuable things that helped me improve my habits and outlook on my music career, and I had a lot of breakthroughs that changed my thinking and approach around monetization, merch, email list building, and more. The best part of the program was getting to know other musicians and to have a really practical, inside view of what they're doing—the nuts and bolds of how an ad performed, how much they spent on shipping merch, how they figured out how to monetize their livestream, etc. One thing that holds me back from giving a 5-star review is the fact that, after following the coursework and really putting in the work, I'm operating at a STEEP loss which does not make my current setup viable in any way for me. Some of the business systems that have proven profitable for members of the Modern Musician team haven't worked as well for me—for example, the ad system that seemed to work well for others are insanely expensive for me to run, and shipping costs from Canada erase the profit margins on physical goods. I've spent a large portion of my time re-engineering the systems that were said to work when I joined the program. Becoming monetized and profitable was the main reason I joined, and that was a huge selling aspect of the course, so truthfully I am a little let down that I'm not seeing any returns. So, in the end, I'm going to get a result that works for me, but it's only because I'm willing to really put in the work and redesign it all, based partially on concepts I learned in the course. Overall, this is a fantastic group of people. It's a lot of work to implement the coursework, but if you do, you'll end up with a more organized system for running your business, connecting with fans, positioning your merch, and other aspects of being an indie musician!

If there was any need for affirmation that music is the right path for you, I hope that was it! :) I'm really glad that you learned so many valuable things that helped you improve your habits and outlook on your music career, and that you had breakthroughs that changed your thinking and approach around monetization, merch, email list building, and more. I'm also glad to hear that you enjoyed getting to know other musicians and having a practical, inside view of what they're doing. You're just getting started, and you can do this! At such an early stage in your music career, I agree with you that this was a monumental step to take. Your willingness to take action will pay off massively in your long-term future! I'm excited to continue helping you grow and develop as an artist in the Modern Musician community. I'm sad to hear that you were disappointed by not seeing immediate returns during the first 3 months of working with us. It can be frustrating feeling like you're not quite where you want to be yet, especially when you believe in yourself as much as you do (as you should!). While we do often see brand new artists like you join the program and start seeing immediate returns, we always encourage artists to set one-year goals. I'm confident that when you stick with this for the next 9 months (and I know you will), you'll start seeing the returns you're looking for! :) I encourage you to remember that at the very start of your career, everything you do is a long-term investment. It's rare for a brand new artist to start making a lot of money immediately after joining the program, which is why we are very transparent about that from the beginning. As with any business endeavor, a brand new music career takes time to grow, nurture, and fine-tune - overnight success is extremely rare and never sustainable. I don't think overnight success is what you were looking for, which is why I'm glad to know you're happy you joined the program! I'm very excited that you are fine-tuning and engineering your systems to fit with your core identity and target audience, because the truth is there is no such thing as "one size fits all" in music. It's all about adjusting and optimizing for your brand and identity. Shoot me an email, and I'd love to jump on a couple of bonus calls with you to walk through how a ton of Canadian artists are maximizing their systems, driving down ad costs (which you definitely can do!), and modifying pricing/offers to work well with Canadian shipping. It's also worth considering some digital offers that will likely convert very well for you. As a Modern Musician team, we not only think you're an amazing musician but also an amazing human. Personally, I actually believe that someday you'll be one of the biggest Modern Musician successes in our community, and that someday we will be handing you an award on stage. The Modern Musician Artistry Gold program exceeded my expectations! I’ve spent a LOT of money (more than 6 figures) on high end coaching programs. Michael Walker’s program along with his coaching staff are among the most competent I’ve dealt with. The program is laid out concisely, and there’s no “fluff”. Every module is relevant and laid out logically. Each coach is highly skilled in his or her lane of expertise, and they literally hold your hand, step by step, getting everything up and running. I enjoyed the program so much, I’ve now enrolled in their next tier program. In fact, I was asking if they had one even before they offered it to me. If you are SERIOUS about invested into your music career, Modern Musician will teach you how to BE your own label in these times. It will cost you time and money, so don’t come here writing negative reviews if you aren’t willing to do your part. Much of this program is “do it for you”; but some of it IS “do it yourself”, with coaching of course. If you are among the serious ones out there, and you are ready to focus, THIS is your program!
