Estimated Time VERY off
Mochipan needs to work on time estimates. While I completely understand that preorders are preorders, that this is a small business, that things take time and often way longer than expected, and that tariff uncertainties changed things, I still am quite frustrated with my experience with Mochipan. I ordered a pre sample pre order moth cardigan in November with an expected delivery of January. I only received the cardigan on July 2. The worst part, though, was the constant, overoptimistic schedule updates. It felt like every biweekly update we'd get a promise they'd be ready in the next few weeks, when this was not accurate at all. I honestly didn't mind waiting, but the inaccurate estimates meant I had *no* idea how long it would be. The cardigan itself is nice. Well made and a cute design, although a little thinner than I'd expect for the price tag. I ordered a few other things as well, and all of them are nice and well designed. I truly want Mochipan to succeed. I do like small businesses and do want to support them. However, I think it is an important part of a business to be able to properly estimate how long things will take. I do not believe it was with any malice that Mochipan had incorrect assumptions, but really, after the first few schedule slips, surely they would have realized they needed to be more pessimistic with their time estimations. If I got an update in January that they wouldn't be there until July, sure, I would have been frustrated, but at least I wouldn't have been frustrated twice a month for half a year.

Hi Kimmy, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughtful feedback with us, and for your support of Mochipan. First, I want to sincerely apologize for the frustration caused by the repeated delays and overly optimistic timeline estimates on your preorder. You’re absolutely right—clear and realistic expectations are just as important as the product itself, and we fell short of that here. We’re grateful for your patience and for recognizing the challenges small businesses face. As you noted, we should have adjusted our communication approach after the first few setbacks. Your experience of receiving frequent updates that didn’t line up with reality is completely valid, and we're having talks amongst our hardworking small team to see improvements to these consistent issues in communication moving forward. I’m glad to hear you enjoy the design and quality of your cardigan and other items, even though the wait and uncertainty understandably undermined your overall experience. If you’re open to it, please reach out to me directly at [email protected] with your order number—I’d love the chance to work with you on a way to help make this right, and to learn more from your perspective as we continue improving. Your feedback is incredibly important to us, not only in terms of accountability but also in guiding how we can refine our preorder process and communication moving forward. Thank you again for your honesty and for rooting for us—we truly want to live up to the trust our community places in us. Thanks again, and I hope to hear from you soon! Best regards, Max Mochipan Team
