OK, it might of helped, but I am unsure.
I liked the people I worked with: my guide and clinician, the customer help folks & the group guides and participants. I did not like my sessions. I feel like, for the most part, nothing happened. If I had it to do all over again I would have greatly lowered my expectations and tried integration groups much sooner in the program. I would also allow more time. I understood that I just needed an hour for each session. In reality, the prep and journaling afterwards take longer than the actual sessions. I found that I needed at least 3 hours minimum for a session. I do feel like I am in a better place than when I started, but I am not sure how much credit I can give the ketamine. I also got back on birth control, started an anti-anxiety medication, a life event I was dreading has passed and am using an online counselor in addition to my in-person counselor. I do have to say that my habits did change when it came to drinking alcohol. Alcohol used to take up a lot of my bandwidth and now it doesn't and I am very pleased with that change. I am grateful for the opportunity to try something to help my mental health, even if it only helped a little, I am grateful for every piece of the puzzle.
