I was feeling anxious about entering a local painting competition/exhibition sale when I stumbled upon Milan Art Institute online - I was pleasantly surprised by how easy the workshop was to follow. I went on to create 3 pieces in time to enter the competition; using the learned techniques I made a beautiful humpback whale piece - I can honestly say it is the best painting I have ever made! I also bought the 15 minute abstract add-on video and went on to make an incredibly unusual abstract piece - unlike anything I've ever seen before, applying all the principles shown I was amazed by what I found myself creating. For my 3rd piece, I used my own traditional methods to create an abstract which again turned out beautifully - in a more controlled, symmetrical style. I shall be interested to see how they fair on opening night tomorrow! The downloadable resources have been useful - particularly with brush techniques and how to price up my work. A very big thank you to Elli for introducing me to this wonderful new way of painting and I'm excited to practising and learning more!

I had never done this 5 layer process and was pleasantly surprised that it was not hard. I especially liked not drawing the parrot first!

I really enjoyed the Paint Beautiful Portraits Every Time Course. I’ve been an artist for many years but found the course refreshing for getting back into portraits, and was a good reminder to trust myself as I paint.

This is a wonderful class and Elli is an awesome teacher with tons of knowledge. This is an easy to follow video tutorial and I’m excited to start. Just waiting on a few supplies I needed.

I found the instructions provided in the course were very clear … the only issue I had was sourcing the paintbrushes for the course …. Particularly in regard to the brush size and type

I am learning. I’ll have to do this many times to get it right. I painted over it 6x. lol

This class was amazing! I have always laid in my subjects but learning how to wash and move from darks to lights was a game changer for me!! I have no formal education so I am trying to soak up anything I can! I am going to purchase the Mastery class for sure! Thank you!!!!
