Be willing to learn alone
First- I’ve ONLY done 1 of 4 parts of the program . So far here’s my experience -PRO: Great people who genuinely love teaching and sharing their knowledge- I think the institute is a great idea- BUT Con: I was excited to learn how to make art and while I knew I would have to pay extra for a coach on top of the couple thousand(!!!!) I paid for the course, I didn’t realize how totally alone I would be trying to learn the content-,the “community” is largely promotions. The techniques for monster portrait & charcoal portrait are extremely confusing. Some instructions are clear but the rest - no idea. I honestly can’t tell the advantages of Milan vs Domestika or other art teaching platform except it’s organized for a year upfront instead of individual lessons purchased. So far not worth it and very disappointing. Also, the students art all looks like Eli & Dimitra’s - and that’s not the style I want but I didn’t realize that would be the focus . However, I’m praying God will guide me on how to do the art assignments on my own and hopefully the upcoming assignments will make more technical sense. Reply to Milan: I would have to pay $100 a month on top of the $2k I spent for the course for group coaching- again, not something I can do at this time.

Hi Alexandra, thank you for sharing your experience. I'm a little concerned that you mention that you feel you are doing the program alone. It sounds like you may be confused with our main community and the Group Coaching that is included. Group Coaching shouldn't have any promotions and all be students sharing their work for feedback and critique as well as asking questions. The coaches comment on every single post made by students with in-depth information. If you purchased the program before coaching was combined with the program, you can sign up for that separately. If you have any questions about how to access support, please feel free to reach out to us. Regarding your thoughts on the 2nd section being confusing in Part 1. We are currently re-filming all of Part 1, and eventually all of the program. You'll get access to these updates as soon as they are released, and I believe this will address any confusion. Thank you so much for recognizing that we are a company that truly loves teaching and sharing with artists. I hope that upcoming changes will help you with learning the techniques and building skill. If you have any questions or need help, please feel free to email our support team!
