the course itself is good, i did not have the colors suggested or the colors to mix with, I guess that part is more on me, I kept the course handy and will try again later,

We're happy to hear you will try it again James! Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts.

Frustrating! With so many options and programs available, it can be overwhelming to see how everything fits together. I have concerns about whether these choices will genuinely help you grow as an artist. I know Im not alone in feeling this way, and I know its okay to take your time to explore what truly resonates with you. I can trust the process, and know that every step you take can lead you closer to your artistic goals. I will stay curious and open to possibilities; The journey is uniquely a personal exsperience.

What I learned in sections one and two was very good. What I didn't expect was my life to got turned upside down four months after I started and since I paid upfront, no way to put it on hold. I thought at least for $3300 for the course that I would retain access to part 1 and 2 text book. I'm glad I took notes and some screen shots. In total, I spent the course fee, another $1000 on art supplies, $1200 for a new computer because the one I had was too old to be compatible with my photoshop costing more for the new software, a new printer because old one not compatible with new one. So close to $7000 only to have to stop because of family and a health issue. If I was younger, uncaring, didn't need surgery... it might have worked. It did not for me. I did do a lot of self discovery and realized that although I have loosen up, I will never be an abstract-realism artist. It's realism and totally abstract, never the two combined. I felt this course tried to make me a clone style wise. If you have any doubts about the course, don't do it. If you have no other obligations, are in excellent health and want to paint just like Ellie and Demetria, go for it.

Hi Patricia, I'm sorry to hear that you had family and health issues that prevented you from continuing with the program. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, however, I would like to clear a few things up and offer context for anyone who reads it. At checkout the terms and conditions you are agreeing to is that you will make all of the payments towards the cost of the program and that lifetime access isn't given until your payment plan is paid in full. Please be sure to read the terms and conditions before purchasing. We do not split up parts of the program and offer them for separate pricing, the payment installment plans are only to offer an alternative payment option to paying the full amount at once. As for the program trying to make you choose a specific style, that isn't how the program works. We have students that choose to paint realistic, abstract, and everything in between. We never require students to mix the two together. We don't have any requirements to paint in a specific style and we have a whole part of the program dedicated to help students find their own voice and style of painting, based on guided self-reflection steps.

I'm currently enrolled and going to cancel & ask for a refund. I was super excited and went and spent all this money on new supplies. Ok so it feels to me that it's very repetitive- Elli is not good at explaining things. I've done all of section 1 & still have no idea what I'm doing. It's as if she's not taking into account that students may not be classically taught already or have zero skill. I've actually had to look up on you tube, other video's to teach me what she's been trying to teach me. It's been frustrating and has taken all the joy out of creating for me. I feel like I'm almost 4 weeks in, and have done enough of the lessons to see that this isn't for me. I want to be taught techniques that I can apply to my already found style- and she isn't showing me that. It's very "copy your source" and the techniques are NOT explained well at all. I shouldn't have to ask AI how to do something she just taught me to do- and definitely can't justify paying almost 5k for this. EDIT to add: I want to clarify that I'm just a very visual learner and although I had a really hard time grasping concepts taught, I think the Milans are awesome people and they obviously know what they are doing as they've been teaching for a long time. The refund process was easy and fast. Gratitude.

Hi Winnie, we're sad to hear that you feel like the first section hasn't been what you expected. The first three sections in Part 1 of the Mastery Program are the most difficult, because you are learning to trust the process and your own abilities. You do have access to group coaching where you can get all of your questions answered, however, I'm not showing that you have utilized that service. If you would like to provide us more specific feedback about any parts of the program, we'd really appreciate it. Our goal is to do our best for artists, and we always appreciate the opportunity to learn, grow, and improve.

Create information! I’m such a big beginner, though that I need to start from the beginning, and there was already so much work done on the piece that it’s hard to kind of jump in.
Response from Milan Art InstituteJul 3, 2025
Hi Dana, thank you for your kind feedback. Yes, some of our classes start during the painting process because they are teaching a specific technique within the process.

there was some great info, but the majority was advertising your main course, which I did not sign up for, so I was disappointed in that, as I think you should be concentrating on what you advertised, not spending the majority of the time on another course.
Response from Milan Art InstituteNov 17, 2024
Thank you for your feedback. We do talk about the Mastery Program in our masterclasses, however, it's false that we spend the majority of the 3 hour period talking about it. Our classes are meant to help artists as well as bring awareness to all that we offer.
Irina
The ad grabbed me, but what was shown at the masterclass was completely different (I mean the picture). Yes, what I've learnt was with good value but the lesson was more for selling rather than showing how to. Even if I go back to the video, I need to search the small but important information spreaded in 3 hours material. It is unnecessary time consuming. The professionalism is obvious but the knowledge offered was dissatisfied at least for me keeping in mind the length of the video and the picture.

Thank you for sharing your feedback! These classes are live, so we aren't able to show the exact painting that will be used before it is painted.
Doreen
It didn’t mention the use of pan pastels in the materials list which were used in a major way for the first layer. I wish I’d known…
Response from Milan Art InstituteOct 17, 2024
I'm sorry Doreen, we'll work on providing a complete list of supplies for all masterclasses going forward. Thank you for sharing your feedback.
