I just signed up for their Mastery Program and I am loving it! I've always felt I was met to be an artist and just do dumb dumb left brain jobs to pay the bills over the years. Society belittles people wanting to be artists and it's honestly never been easier to be one with the digital era. Milan Art Inst teaches people to draw and drawing is not naturally a skill you can learn it and relearn it. They teach you to draw and how to make art that actually sells, where you can sell it and how you can become a profitable artist. I'm only one month into it and very pleased with it. I am on limited budget to start out but you can buy supplies as you work through the program if you can't afford it all at once. You can buy from their website but it is $$. You are getting your money's worth if you buy it from them. I've gotten most of my stuff off of Amazon or local crafting stores. To get a new studio going you'll need at least $200-$400 to get it going. I bought many things from second hand stores and it works equally well. Most of my local colleges left brain teach art to the academia world requirements and my experience with local colleges have been less than satisfactory. Milan Art Inst does not teach that way. They really teach art with a right brain focus and many students love their school. With it being mostly online, you can learn any where from the world. My parents never encouraged my art career so I worked left brain jobs most of my life and am so burned out on them I just can't do it any more. If you become really good at art you can sell and Milan Art teaches you how to do that. You get good lessons, learn at your own pace and can learn with any income level. I'm recommending people at my local college to take classes through Milan Art instead. Not only will you become a profitable artists you will become successful at it too. Highly recommended and affordable.

I found Milan’s instruction to be highly informative and inspiring at the same time. Her process , I think, is exactly what I need to take my portrait painting to another level where the painting gestures and marks on the canvas are treated as an integral and creative part of the composition and not just a tool to create a photographic likeness . The result is a ‘ painterly’ approach with a high focus on accuracy and good draughtsmanship ,where each stroke of the brush is an eloquent summary of what we observe in our model. Create information! I’m such a big beginner, though that I need to start from the beginning, and there was already so much work done on the piece that it’s hard to kind of jump in.

My art experience with Milan was colourful and highly educational. I have gained substantial knowledge and look forward to continuing my practice. I am eager to enroll in the next course soon.

While I appreciate that this process works for her, I don't think it's the best for beginners, to which the class is marketed. She has trouble talking and painting at the same time so it is harder to get through than prior video tutorials, but the main problem was the process of painting background and subject at the same time, not sketching it out, and the blending was awful. My painting was definitely NOT the best thing I have painted and in my opinion, this class was not worth the cost. Halfway through, it turned into mere damage control. Perhaps my expectations were too high, but I am truly disappointed. I did learn this is not the best method for me though and will continue to seek out my style but I live on social security so I can't afford to try another paid class. To add salt, I was less than 24 hrs late in requesting a refund due to an evening time, so they would not honour their guarantee. Will not do business with them again.

I loved learning to paint this floral painting. I like that I can refer back to it and also that I can make my own choices. I would’ve liked a bit more zooming in to see exactly how the strokes are made and more on how to combine the colors (or alternatives) to obtain the closest shades possible.

This was not an easy lesson but Elli is right on about everything she is teaching!

I learned quite a lot. I struggle with being looser in my painting, and it usually takes me forever to finish one… this course really helped me with that.. and the little discovery on how to use transparent colors vs opaque has made a huge difference in my efforts.
