It is easy to navigate. Except the voice asking the review questions is annoying and some questions are asked in a very confusing way.

We love this program. The only things I would suggest have more Spanish classes. Also, in depth focus on phonics and sight words. Thank you

Love their customer service. Have been apart of Mia for 3 years. They are always pleasant and quick. Long story short, I needed my child's streak reset due to a scheduling error on my behalf. I've requested this maybe 3 times in 3 years. I was denied and told that I had had already had it reset as a "one time courtesy" (which I never was told previously) and that my child missed days of assigned learning (which he did not). Totally understand the rational with this, but have never been denied. After sending a second email with the same request and more detail, it was approved. I would love to see this policy be more flexible because as a working homeschool parent, I'm swamped, and things fall through the crack sometime. My hard working child shouldn't have to suffer if I make a mistake. I feel like I'm pretty tech savvy and on top of it, but maybe scheduling and the calendar can be more user friendly? Or parents can control the streak? This experience just left me feeling defeated, but I'm happy it was resolved. Overall, I've had a great experience so far with this program and their team!

Daughter (age 8) loves the school, shop, friends, and games especially. She has motivation to stick with schoolwork. I can't give her close supervision most of the time because I have to work full-time, but it's from home, so she can be near me. What could be better: 1. Procedure of downloading the worksheet, opening it, starting the video, doing the worksheet at the right time, moving onto the practice section, and taking the test after that. Sometimes she watches the video, sometimes doesn't, sometimes she does the practice, and sometimes she goes on to the test and takes it without understanding and gets a bad grade repeatedly. I ask her if she's started her worksheet but she says she doesn't know how, so I set it up on the screen with the video next to it, but then she's stuck again when it's time to start the next subject. 2. Moderation allows in shops fan-created content based on some horror video games, based on rating, but all horror video games are too scary for my daughter. I told her to avoid those shops. She seems OK with that. 3. The content of lessons could be based on the castle/ice-cream/etc. theme, to make girls more interested, e.g. sentences in English could be about things they like, Reading stories could be fairy tales, math problems could be about ice-cream and unicorns. 4. Hoping a home economics class will eventually be added. My daughter would like to learn some sewing, and I'd like her to learn to make more than the toast and peanut-butter-and-jam sandwiches she knows how to make. (I would have to make time to supervise her with the stove and oven though.)

Great curriculum for kids K-8. The staff is very good.

- Update: The company reached out and even conducted a zoom meeting with me to discuss this issue. I'm very impressed by the level of customer commitment demonstrated here. I look forward to moving forward with miacademy in the future. We switched from powerhomeschool to using Mia this year. I did a lot of research and asked many people before switching. For the most part I'm pleased with the curriculum; however, I feel they don't have a professional business model when it comes to their updates. They often make updates to the curriculum/plan and lessons without informing the parents. I have been told two different things by customer service on this subject. One was to check the newsletter for upcoming updates (which I've started doing), and the second was they often update curriculum without informing us. As a parent/veteren homeschooler/former public school teacher I find this very unprofessional behavior. It would be one thing if this only applied to added material, but it also applies, (and this is my primary complaint) to removing content. My son's World Geography course has had several lessons removed, shortening the overall course from what I was promised at the start of the school year (two months ago). For a company that touts parent customizability and flexibility as one of its tennets, to make constant changes without the parents knowledge actually takes away those very features. I feel like I have to constantly babysit my son's schedule to see if anything has changed/ been removed to their arcade. I would happily rate them five stars if not for this issue.

So far the kids have enjoyed Miacademy. The website have had some bugs and I think a full tutorial of how everything works would be helpful for parents. They seem to be open to improving their courses, service and site ongoing and overall, we feel it has the best teaching videos in comparison to Time 4 Learning and Power Homeschool
