Dishonest advertising and bad customer service
I have been paying my bill on time every month for over 3 years. Recently, my phone broke, and I purchased a used one from Back Market. The phone is a Metro phone; it's unlocked, and the IMEI is clear the phone is good. Metro says that you can switch your device online for free. I spent 2 hours trying to do that, and it said my SIM card wasn't registered; it was a month ago when my other phone broke. When I finally gave up and went to the Metro by T-Mobile store, they said they couldn't understand why I was having a problem and had it all ready to go until they wanted to charge me 25$ which I didn't have. I brought my phone home, got online, and everything was fine until I tried to switch my device. Now it keeps saying something went wrong on their part, and please refresh the page. It's just one thing after another. I strongly feel like they are making it difficult to add my new device to make an extra 25$. If I had extra money, I wouldn't have Metro. They know that people will just give up and go to the store and pay. It's rotten, and I feel like they are holding my phone hostage. It's misleading advertising; they should just say they are going to charge you 25$. They also have great deals if you switch to their service, but if you are an existing customer and need a phone, then you have to upgrade your plan or pay full price. I find that incredibly insulting, especially since I have had the same phone for a few years and have 4 lines, so I pay them $ 122.00 every month on time, and they couldn't care less about making me happy; they just care about making more money. The online AI assistant is absolutely worthless and doesn't do anything but say, Please contact customer service or go to the store. Cricket doesn't charge you to switch, and I think I'm just going to switch to Cricket.
