I’m totally pleased with my book but i am 75 years old and the computer requirements are very hard to understand the weekly calls and prompts i gave up on after the first month the calls were never when they were scheduled and the prompts were of no help at all I ended up making an outline with notes for each chapter then using the audio recording to do the chapter and als typed alot my self it took 10 months of work

While I like the concept, it is NOT easy for an older adult who is in the beginning stages of having memory issues. I personally find the website itself not user friendly, and my family member had to fight to get through the process this year. In fact, she just gave up on it 9 months after starting. In her quest to regain navigation through the website she stumbled upon the price and now feels bad that I purchased it. They also hard sell her on giving it to someone else whenever she's in it. Terrible tactic, honestly. I bought it due to all these great reviews, but the entire experience - purchase, set up for gift giving, and my relative's difficulty navigating - has been way less than ideal.

There were several times when the site wouldn't work for anywhere from a day or two up to two weeks, and I lost a lot of riding time due to that. I also thought it was not very user friendly when I got done with my attempt to create the title page, chapters, etc. The explanations were difficult to understand. I was a school teacher for 32 years, so I think that is a fair assessment on my part. I am not saying that the site was down, but rather that either my login information wouldn't work or the password wouldn't work or the site would say that I was not registered (my sister purchased the membership for me as a birthday gift, and there was trouble transferring it to my name) and I had to call the company and they did fix the problem, but I still lost time.

The recording and transcribing of the answers to the questions is very good. The selection of the questions could be improved. I rewrote almost half of the questions.

I love the product and the way the site allows people to add their stories. I was confused by exactly what I was paying for. I knew the printed book was extra, but the cost is not well defined. And when I ordered a book, I didn't receive any notification of an approximate shipping date. That would have been nice to confirm that the process was done correctly and that the order was received.

I'm almost halfway through the year managing a shared MemoryGram book for my parents. It started as an absolute hassle and Customer Service was impossible to get ahold of and mostly unhelpful when I did. After posting a one star review here, they have been very helpful and receptive and seem to have solved the early technical issues this account/book was having. I’m looking forward to now hopefully seeing this project to completion with their help (was ready to scrap and ask for a refund) and - upon receiving the final product at year’s end - I hope to bump this review up to at least 4 stars.

First off, the website is very clunky. You can't preview it before you buy it but I chose mammogram specifically so that I could have my mom and dad both contribute to a single book, a feature I could not find on any other platform. The website itself feels like it was made in the early 2000s. When you set up a question you can't just easily change a different date for it to be sent, you can't easily see the past questions, but I was willing to deal with all of that because it was an affordable price and the book was just for me. The real kicker came when I received the final book and the cover is a blank square that says image not found. Kind of ridiculous that it wasn't just blank and that no one in the printing process caught this mistake. They called me several weeks later to ask me to send them a five star review and I told them about this mistake. They said an image was never uploaded. I told them that if an image was not uploaded, then it should not say image not found and they finish the conversation by asking me to make them a five star review. I ignored it. A month later I got an email asking for another five star review and I explained in the email why I would not give a five star review and they said that they would make it up to me. I could order the original book that I purchased, printed correctly, at a discounted price of $67. They did not offer to actually give me the correct book with the correct photo on it, but offered that I gave them another $67. Truly shocking. Am I speaking to humans or bots? I'm not sure. If you don't care about format, go for it. But if you want customer service and folks who actually will deliver what they say they will, look elsewhere

Update: Staff has issued me a refund and offered to switch the current membership to a new family member. They were very communicative and wanted to make things right. Grandmother passed about 1 month into the purchase - we hadn't been able to answer a single question, let alone print any physical copy. I asked for a refund, if they needed evidence, or anything, and they refused. I would have figured a company in this "area" would be better suited to dealing with these situations. Edit: to their response below - I have responded to their emails. They told me it is within their policy to issue a refund in this situation. Yet, they have not issued a refund to me. They want me to change or delete my review - I said, I would consider that if they issued the refund to me.
