Their app is solid and does what it says but the main issue is that Memberpress are dishonest about their renewal fees and do not send reminders alerting you to their increase in prices. The renewal fee is double the annual price and their website does not convey this message. I decided not to renew with them due to this dishonesty and lack of transparency

Works pretty good for content protection with Wordpress, but most of the UI is rough for your customers. It’s also tricky for you, for instance upgrading and downgrading requires cancelling your Membership and getting a new one. Add ons like coaching is also confusing. Finally, the initial price point for your first year should be closer to the standard price rather than doubling after the first year. This puts their price very close to self hosted solutions like Podia which offers better UI.

I think you need to give me time to figure out how to use it before you ask how well I like it... Sending me an email every day kinda makes me cringe.

Thank you for your candid remarks. The most helpful reviews are those submitted by our customers who have experience using our product. I looked into your situation and found out what happened. It looks like a feedback survey you completed on our website triggered the TrustPilot automated invite to submit a review. TrustPilot asks us to invite all customers to leave a review, which builds trust in the fairness of the reviews. As you point out, it's best if people have had a chance to install, activate, and use the plugin though! This is why we wait to trigger the TrustPilot automation until a customer has taken some action in their account. In your case, the trigger was met when you submitted the brief feedback questionnaire in your account. I have reached out to TrustPilot to find out how we might improve the automated process so that it will focus on customers who have had a chance to use MemberPress. Thank you for signing up. We're glad to have you on board! MemberPress

I enjoyed Memberpress so far, but I wish I could track my individuel members journey on my site. I’d like to know which videos exactly a member watched and when so I could create more like this, etc. Just like in Kajabi.

Hi Elodie, Thanks for taking the time to leave your review. We're happy to hear that you're enjoying MemberPress. And we definitely appreciate your feedback and suggested feature upgrades. Currently, we do have a progress-tracking feature in our Courses Add-on. That could give you insight into what member has watched which video in a course lesson. You can read more about it in our recent "Features Update" post > https://memberpress.com/blog/introducing-new-memberpress-courses-updates-and-more-feature-favorites/ Or here's an overall Support Doc that also covers more on progress tracking features > https://docs.memberpress.com/article/326-getting-started-with-memberpress-courses When it comes to member engagement, we totally understand "wanting more stats". So we've gladly added your tracking recommendation to our pipeline for what's to come! Don't be afraid to reach out to our Support Team directly for any more questions about member tracking. Be sure to follow our blog too for helpful tips on how to get the most from your membership site.

I've been a customer with this company for a few years but have decided to cease services whilst we redesign our site. I've found cancelling the autorenewal to be frustrating. There are multiple screens/popups to get through with offers and warnings to scare you into remaining a subscriber. These screens are purposefully designed to make it difficult to leave (e.g. cancellation buttons that don't appear until you've checked multiple boxes). I'm sure someone from the company will reply that they are trying to offer value, and ensure customers understand that they will no longer have security updates if they stop paying - but realistically I think it's pretty plain why they do this! I really dislike that when you sign up you are automatically opted in for yearly renewal! In my opinion, the honest approach is to ask a customer their preference when signing up (and to make it easy for them to opt out). Based on my recent experience I will unfortunately be considering other options when redesigning my site.

Hi P Scott, Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. Exciting news about your redesign, but we’re sorry to see you go in that process. Yes. We do have a thorough cancelation process; however, it is not to “scare” our customers. We’d never do that! Instead, it’s our way of sticking with you every step of the way. Before a customer cancels (especially one like yourself who has been with us a while), we like to get a better understanding of why you’re leaving. Collecting customer feedback is our best technique for bettering our product to ensure a better user experience, as well as get ideas on how we can develop new strategies to fit your needs. As for our renewal process, like the majority of subscription services, our customers find an automatic renewal much more convenient. Not to mention a familiar practice many do with their own membership business. Could you imagine if you signed up for internet service and they shut it off after the first month because you didn’t click the extra button to opt-in for service the next month? Plus, we also send out a 30-day reminder to alert users of their upcoming renewal.

I think the annual fee is excessive. The communication to resolve my issue was not satisfactory as it appeared my question was not read leading to a delayed resolution

Hi Bernard, Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. Our annual fee is a reflection of our very successful product and the continuous work we put into it in order to make it the best tool for our customers. As for your experience with our Support, in some cases, it does take extra time to research the problem and collaborate with other team members to come up with a clear solution. It looks like that may have happened here, but that was how we were able to find a solution. We hope you are well on your way now. Best of luck with your business!
