My dogs had a terrible reaction to this food despite following instructions. When I cancelled my subscription , Maev went ahead and processed my order. I'm out hundreds of dollars and will be sent 20lbs of food that will be thrown away. Most shelters won't accept raw food and for good reason. Maev customer service should have offered a refund and cancelled as I had asked.

No Un-subscribe on site and dog was not impressed.
The customer service was a let down. I used their chat feature to attempt to purchase a few bags to try out for my German shepherd, but was told that I had to subscribe in order to make a purchase. I asked the rep. if I could subscribe and then easily un-subscribe while I tried the first few bags. I was assured that the process was easy and no hassle was involved. I then subscribed, made the purchase and looked for the area on their site to un-subscribe. There wasn't one. A phone call had to be made in order to cancel the subscription. After waiting and then speaking and explaining what my intentions were (again), I was able to unsubscribe. So there is that - I have used other foods (Farmer's Dog, etc) and everything account related is available on their site for me to manage (subscribe, pause, change, and yes - even un-subscribe). So minus points right off the bat.
Received the food and began to introduce the new food to my dog slowly. The food looked good - packaging was great and the food looked flash frozen correctly - still frozen upon arrival - kudos to packaging and shipping, great job. My dog just didn't like it. I think the problem is that if you give a dog the choice between meat and veggies, he will eat the meat and leave the veggies. That is what my GSD did and he wasn't willing to dig around to find all the meat, so the meat would thaw and quite frankly, leave a disgusting mess (bloody, soft, etc). Probably my fault for not getting rid of it quicker, but I was hoping Raife (my dog) would finish the food. Anyway - I had high hopes for Maev, but I haven't purchased more and I ended up giving 3 bags to my daughter for her dog, who I hear loves the food. Too much money to spend on it for me when my dog doesn't love it.

Sketchy for sure
Sketchy for sure. I ordered a bundle for my two dogs to try. The products were too complicated to fully utilize with frozen supplement pellets, etc. so we ended up not using them. I figured it was a $400+ mistake on my part. Today I received two more boxes, one much larger than my last delivery. I had no idea placing one order signed me up for a subscription. I shop online almost daily and I’ve never been signed up for anything like this without realizing it. I’ve attempted to contact the company but they make that difficult.
Imagine selling VERY high-end products and having an “all sales are final” with zero human service mindset. I’ll be initiating a chargeback.

My Vizsla won't touch it, let alone eat it.
My dog isn't new to raw food, but wouldn't even TOUCH the stuff. I don't blame him as it looks to be predominantly beef liver, which just like in humans is toxic in high amounts. Beef liver is extremely high in vitamin A, and as a fat soluble vitamin it accumulates in the body. I reached out to ask them how much vitamin A is in the food, and they said they couldn't tell me because it's proprietary information. LOL, I just want to make sure my dog isn't poisoned by a food with too much!
You also can't cancel the subscription online which is super annoying and poor form for any company.
"Vitamin A in high doses is a direct toxin. Excess vitamin A is stored in stellate cells in the liver and accumulation can lead to their activation and hypertrophy, excess collagen production, fibrosis and liver injury. The toxicity is dose related and can be reproduced in animal models." - Livertox Database

Its 95% green beans, only a handful of meat and peanut butter!! You can buy this at the grocery store yourself for $5!! Oh and the new york address on there website is NOT even their office!!! ThatS a we work office space!! Maev will not disclose where they are cooking there food. Some people feel this is NOT real beef and some other sort of animal ...as they are importing there meat from China...SCAM COMPANY STAY AWAY

Twice I was charged without warning
Twice I was charged without warning. I tried to cancel the subscription both times.. The dogs won't eat the veggies and the blueberries stain my tile. This time they charged my card on a Friday night at 11:30 pm and no one is available all weekend to dispute or stop the order conveniently... Monday no one has contacted me by 9-10 am so I'm calling and emailing.... They pulled they "we will send this to production but idk if we can stop the order..." So i told them I will refuse the shipment and they haven't responded to any emails after the initial phone call. I refused the shipment and now have to file a dispute through paypal... Very disappointing to say the least..

Not worth it
Meet Maev is not worth the cost. There are many other options for high quality fresh and frozen food for your pet. My dog wouldn't eat the beef flavor food, which is strange since she loves beef. Maev doesn't offer any guarantee or refund of your dog doesn't eat it. That was a waste of $55 for the 5lb bag. The chicken bags are packed so most of the chicken is on top. I think it's so you feel good about the amount of chicken when you first open the bag. But, then it's just string beans and parsnips at the bottom. They have no QC at their warehouse. The frozen food must melt during packing and then re-freeze when they add dry ice to the shipping box, so it re-freezes in a solid chuck that you can't break apart. You have to wait until it melts. The really expensive bone broth cubes also are frozen into one solid cube, so you have to melt it into broth (save your $ and just buy broth). Recently, a 15lb shipment arrived completely melted. Since it was no longer safe to give to my dog, I had to start her on another food while they took their time to ship a replacement. My dog was ill for 4 days due to their poor QC in shipping. If you want to know if your dog will like the food, buy a bag of frozen string beans, one of kale, and cubed parsnips. If your dog doesn't devour those vegetables they won't like the food. My dog only eats the chicken cubes and blueberries and leaves a pile of vegetables in her bowl that I have to toss. The high quality dog foods that blend all of the ingredients are better for the dog (but look less appealing for the human).

Shady Practice, and Poor Customer Service
We had a subscription for their bars- which honestly made very little impact on our dog. However, the main reason for such a poor rating is their unethical practice of billing. While Maev "redid" their formula, they stopped shipping to us with no notice to consumers on the subscription plan for months. So long in fact, that I fully assumed that I had cancelled our subscription. However, I received an email two days ago that our order was "confirmed". I reached out to Maev and was told that they are starting to fulfill subscriptions again- WITH NO PRIOR NOTICE- and therefore wont cancel my order, accept a return, nor issue a refund. So, theres a tremendous lack of communication, poor customer service and resolutions to issues, and unethical/random charging happening with the service that both fails to fulfill and communicate regarding their product. I do not recommend.
