Very disappointed as this partnership with my medical insurance provider is very misleading--being informed that my imaging discounts would be offered through MDSave. Yes, there are certain discounts if you go to a select hospital that they have partnered up with, which may be local or may be over 200 miles away. Yes, it may benefit you in emergency situations IF YOU END UP AT THEIR PARTICIPATING HOSPITALS/FACILITIES that may be local or 200 miles away. For example, if you have to have an echocardiogram (cardiac echo) performed in a hospital as an outpatient and/or you are hospitalized as an inpatient in that hospital --the average non-discounted price for that study would be approximately $3800; and yet MDSave would have you purchase a discounted package at $1065-$2200--AGAIN only with SELECT facilities. You MUST pay attention and check if that hospital in your area has partnered up with MDSave otherwise the discount is completely useless. Furthermore, you MUST shop around for outpatient diagnostic imaging facilities in your area which they obviously do not partner up with MDSave---and is only of benefit to you if you are outpatient (not an emergency). Note: Cardiac echo quote for me was $325 at an outpatient diagnostic imaging facility (no MDSave involvement). Another example, to have a chest Xray performed at the only participating MDSave facility --with an MDSave discount -- will cost me $166; however, when calling around to the diagnostic imaging places in my area---the charge is a whopping $50 with radiology interpretation without any MDSave partnership. You do the math---medicine is BIG business.

Streamlined check-in, paid up front before procedure(test) and price paid was at a discount. No filing with my medical insurance but still counts as a medical expense at end of the tax year.

I recently needed a CT scan to locate a kidney stone traveling through my body and found out my health insurance did not cover the cost of diagnostic imaging. A financial advisor recommended using a voucher through MD Save, and the cash price was VERY affordable. The process to apply for, pay for and use the voucher was extremely easy. MD Save was a financial blessing!!
