Customer service refused to send a replacement when package was retrieved hot after 11 days
I signed up for Maximus and was notified that my order was shipping on 6/6, however I was not provided a tracking number or link. I checked back to my account several times over the next week to see when this would be updated, however, Maximus has several processes in place to stop you from reaching a real human when you need help. First, the website banner said that shipping could take up to 10 business days to prevent you from reaching out. The FAQ directs you to check the shipping status on your account page, however this does not have any tracking number or link and is never updated. Even today as I write this review 2 weeks after shipment, the status still says “in transit”. Then when I finally decided to reach out, my email was intercepted by a chatbot that again gates you from a real person. I finally got to customer service 10 days after shipping to ask for a tracking link, when they replied that my package had been delivered a week ago. Had they provided the tracking info (as is standard for any online store), I could have followed up on it immediately. However, since I didn’t have the info I found that my package had been sitting outside for a week, and it had been out a total of 11 days by the time I retrieved it. I live in an apartment with 2 entrances, one that leads straight to my apartment and another that is connected to a common courtyard. The delivery person had left the package on the other entrance so I had never seen it and it had been sitting on pavement for a week under direct sun in 90 degree summer Southern California weather. Obviously the package was already hot when I got it, so I asked for a replacement. Customer service refused to send a replacement because the package had not been in weather greater than 104 degrees. However, a package sitting in the sun for hours on a paved surface reaches temperatures much greater than the air temperature so I do not feel safe taking this medication. Furthermore, customer service refused to replace the medication since they didn’t have proof that it had been exposed to temperature that warranted IMMEDIATE disposal. This was a 3 month prescription and even when only exposed to temperatures as low as 86f, it is stated that the medication must be disposed of within 30-60 days. Since customer service has not been helpful, it seems the only resolution is to dispute this charge with my credit card and not recommend using this company again. 6/23 update: A customer service assistant manager reached out to me following this review. They were very polite and extremely fast to replace my order, which I received today. I was also asked to consider changing my review based on this experience, so I have updated my rating from 1 to 3 stars. I really appreciate this company’s willingness to resolve my issue after this post was made, because honestly it is a very stressful experience to have a $300 charge and no useable product. So I am very thankful for that. However, I would like to reiterate that after I found my package warm after 11 days of being in transit/outside in the summer, I asked customer service to replace my order and they assured it me it was fine. When I responded why I did not believe so, a separate customer service representative emailed me back that they would not be replacing the medication. Thus, it’s reasonable to believe that if I had not gone above and beyond to write this review on trust pilot I would not have received a replacement. I find this strange for prescription medication, since in all my experience with prescriptions and doctors I am always advised to be on the more cautious side. I find it very hard to believe that a doctor would have advised me to take this medication as Maximus had. Lastly, most people are here and paying a premium because they want anonymity in obtaining their prescription. Having to contact customer service, write a public review, and even being asked to schedule a phone call with the customer service assistant manager takes some of that away. So if you don’t mind going through all those steps, I am sure you will be 100% satisfied purchasing from Maximus. If you aren’t willing to go through the hassle, you may not get what you paid for.

Thank you for updating your review and for sharing the details of your experience. We are glad to hear that our manager was able to connect with you and resolve the issue quickly by sending a replacement order. We want to be clear that we never intend to deny a replacement, especially when it is warranted. After looking into what happened, we identified a system glitch that failed to notify you of your order's shipment and delivery. There was a miscommunication between our support agents regarding your initial request, and for that, we apologize. The situation should have been resolved during your first contact with us, as it is never our standard procedure to require a public review to get a resolution. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention as it helps us improve our processes. We are hopeful that your experience moving forward will be much smoother and reflect the high standard of service we strive to provide.
