I like this product—when it works. But every time i charge the sensor it stops sending data to the app. I jump through hoops and last week it started sending data again. This week after recharge it still isn’t working.
I did troubleshooting and wiFi, internet were fine but it said app needed update. I updated and got confirmation. Still isn’t working. Ran troubleshooting again and again wifi and internet was ok but app required update. Updated again. STILL not recording data in app. Perhaps my sensor is defective (i haven’t had it long).

Just getting started
It’s still a little too early for me to give a full review of this product, as I’ve had it for less than a month. However, I have noticed that my dog seems to be itching and scratching more around the area where the collar sits. He is an indoor dog and wasn’t previously used to wearing a collar all the time, so having something around his neck constantly has been an adjustment for him.
I do like the heart rate and respiratory monitoring features, although I’m still trying to fully understand the water intake and head-shaking reports. One feature I would really like to see in the app is the ability to zoom in on a specific day’s readings. I can add notes to indicate that my dog was playing or sleeping during a certain time, but it isn’t practical to manually note everything he does throughout the day.
The same issue comes up when I remove the collar to charge the battery. It would be helpful if the app could recognize that the monitor was not actively being worn and clearly mark that timeframe, rather than leaving it looking like there is simply missing data.
For now, customer support has been responsive, and my dog is gradually getting accustomed to wearing the monitor and collar throughout the day. I’m looking forward to using it longer and seeing how helpful the data becomes over time.

Two months into the Maven experience, we like several aspects about it. It largely lives up to what it promises. With proprietary technology not revealed, it's impossible to know what it *really* measures, but once the individual baselines are established, it seems pretty consistent. Deviations from the baselines are also consistent with our own observations.
The biggest problem is that it randomly, but relatively frequently, about once in ten days, stops measuring entirely. These drops don't appear to be caused by anything we can observe: dog or collar position, wifi signal issues, charging status. I've used human activity trackers since the first wireless HRMs, so I'm familiar with occasional sensor challenges, but I don't think a human tracker manufacturer would put this unreliable a product on the market.
A smaller negative is the size. Our dog is a 65lb bully, and the sensor is bulky enough that it bugged her for a few days. I find the "fits any animal" claim hard to believe.
Finally, a wish (with no impact on my current score): the ability to get (or at least attempt to get) a specific-moment heart rate reading would be great. Our dog is reactive, and we are hoping to get more than observational data on cortisol spikes. Heart rate would be a moderately decent proxy variable. Alas, Maven has no such feature.

After having Maven for about 5 months
After having Maven for about 5 months. It seemed to be working well! I was impressed! As of 2 weeks ago the app started displaying incorrect information- breathing for my dog was abnormal, said her drinking water was nearly non existent throughout the day - when on camera it was the complete opposite! Also had her moving a lot more than she was it was just all messed up. Reached out to Maven (I’ve messaged the company previously about some questions and my billing in the past- customer service was on par! UNTIL NOW) No response at all from the first email; I waited 3 days. 2nd email I was told that the first email may have gotten lost but to be patient because they have a lot of orders to handle at this time (so current customers are no longer given a timely response?) I waited 4 days. Sent a reply to the email that was responded to- asked for an update. It’s been 2 weeks now. Can’t use the collar because the info is still incorrect on the app- I’ve just discontinued use at this time and requested to have my account cancelled. Their 24hr response seems to be non existent now. This would have been a great way to help ease my mind as my service dog has a heart murmur and currently has tumors we are having looked at. I’m getting nothing from them now, not even a response to my cancellation request.
Update-( Responding to Maven )Still waiting to see if fix worked. Currently sensor has been charging and it’s been a full day. It currently isn’t responding.

Hi Tristan, thank you for your review. We've looked into this situation and unfortunately it seems you were not receiving our emails, but it seems the issue has been resolved - is this the case? Our apologies for the inconvenience either way, and thank you for being patient throughout. Best regards

I have not received or tried the service and collars yet. I really wish that you could do more than three pets. I have two cats and two dogs and I have to leave the youngest cat off of the maven system as you can only have one home unit and three collars each household. I hope that the collars and system live up to the hype. I will report back after using the system for 30 days
