Maui Jim's quality is very poor and not worth the price. I purchased a pair of Ho'okipa sunglasses in January, 2026 and the frame broke in less than six months. Having read the reviews, I was aware of the comments that the glasses needed to be treated carefully. Knowing this, I was very careful with the glasses and they were not dropped nor compressed in any way. To make matters worse, I sent them in for repair under the warranty and Maui Jim said the damage was not covered. I will never purchase another pair of Maui Jim sunglasses again.

Maui Jim customer support is horrible
All I needed was nose pads & the piece that the nose pads attach to & MJ wants me to return the glasses at my cost & possibly pay for new frames. No way! I 'll toss them in the trash first.
This company expects you to pay premium prices for sunglasses that fall apart fast. I purchased a pair at Tommy Bahama, and they fit great. Two weeks I bought two more pairs, one for the car, and one to keep with my travel gear. The company accepted my order, but never shipped the second pair... After about a month I called and they told me "oh it was sold out, don't worry, you won't be charged"... I wanted the sunglasses... why sell something you don't have in stock and just let the order sit forever.
Now, quality, BOTH PAIRS started to fall apart after less than 2 months of ownership. The same issue, the screw holding the right arm comes loose and made wearing uncomfortable and eventually they just fell apart. Fine, it happens, probably faulty production during that period of time... Fine, I'll send for repairs.
Well... It's $15.00 for them to repair a pair of DEFECTIVE glasses... you, as the consumer, pay to fix their incompetency. Next, here is the insult to injury. Once you get your repair confirmation, the instructions tell YOU to figure out how to ship to them, and on YOUR dime.
Unbelievable in 2026. This company is beyond out of touch, lazy, and almost certainly headed for bankruptcy.
What an absolute joke of a customer service program. Never buying from this brand again and hope you find a different brand to spend your hard earned dollars on.
Shame on you Jim.

Maui Jim Refuses to provide warranty coverage for defective sunglasses with receipt.
I am highly disappointed with Maui Jim's customer service and lack of two year warranty support. I purchased a pair of Maui Jim Lighthouse HT-423-11 sunglasses from an authorized dealer for over $200 just 11 months ago and have the receipt to prove it. The frame bridge linking the two lenses broke due to a clear material defect. Despite being well within their advertised 2-year warranty window for manufacturing defects, the customer service specialist refused a warranty repair or replacement. Instead, they tried to charge me a $57.50 repair fee. I expected much better backing for a premium eyewear brand. I have been a loyal MJ consumer for over 20 years, but cannot support or recommend this brand based upon lack of warranty support for super premium sunglasses. Online reviews have confirmed “Frame cracking issues on the Maui Jim Lighthouse (specifically model HT423-11) are a known, recurring complaint among long-term owners of this rimless model. Because the Lighthouse uses a minimalist, lightweight design, the stress points are concentrated where the hardware meets the materials.”

If I could give zero stars I would
If I could give zero stars I would. Paid 260 for a pair of glasses, and the frame failed and just broke at the nose near the eye. Still within their warranty coverage, but they wont honor the warranty. The glasses were not dropped, smashed press or anything and always kept in the provided case they came in. Sent them in for repair and after denying warranty coverage they wanted to charge me for a new frame. My thought? I wont ever buy Maui Jim products and buyer beware. Ive had RayBans that lasted 25 years. These made it 18 months. And they wont except and honor their warranty. No thanks.

Bought glasses returned them within the…
Bought glasses returned them within the 30day period. Maui Jim said the glasses had damage and refused a refund or credit. Now I’m stuck with brand new glasses that I don’t like. I called and tried multiple times and got cold mean women that didn’t want to help at all in any way. The glasses were sent back to me. They are not the same company they were. Just the same name. Poor quality. Horrible customer service.

The lenses delaminated after 11 months (Maui Jim-Kalaunu)
The lenses on my Maui Jim Kalaunu sunglasses. (GS629-02) began delaminating 11 months after I bought them from an authorized dealer — well inside the two-year warranty for workmanship and material defects. Maui Jim denied the claim, saying the lenses showed scratching and pitting and had therefore been abused.
After 11 months of regular use, sure, there's some surface wear. But scratches don't cause a lens coating to separate. Delamination is a bond failure between the coating and the lens — a manufacturing issue, not a wear issue. Pointing to normal wear as grounds for denial sets a standard no customer could ever meet: any pair worn outdoors for a year will show something.
Up until this I genuinely enjoyed these glasses. But at roughly $400, a pair of sunglasses should be free of defects — and when one appears, the manufacturer should stand behind the warranty it advertises. Mine didn't.
Worth looking at other options before you spend that kind of money.
