TERRIBLE LITERALLY TERRIBLE it's so annoying it's torture

This is the worst thing to possible exist; it's worse than my sister, and that's saying something. I am enraged by the pain I have to endure every time I have to complete homework. The person who created this should be ashamed of all the torture they have inflicted on children ever since the release of this horrid, horrid math platform

I like the pedadogy and how it enforces helpful principles in your head but I dislike the encouraging messages each time I press submit. It's good overall, one tweak though. And I don't like how it changed from XP Boost and Target to "Personal Practice," because XP Boost and Target enforced questions and stretched me more than Personal Practice does. At least, that's how it is on Sparx Science (repetition, repetition, snooze).

This genuine shit of a website doesn't have any enjoyment but to be fair no homework website has enjoyment. But this one is different. This horrible website doesn't make it at least manageable to complete this compulsory homework that has no benefit to people's education and freedom. You get consequences for not completing 100%. Even if you get 96% and your one question wrong, you would have to complete it or you would get detention. The videos are useless too, really just a very different variant of the question. Thanks Sparx for wasting my time I really appreciate it.

its torture bro like i cant even describe it bro .yes i am a gen alpha and i am one of the students that actually go to school ad learn but i infact hate the website for givig me questions that we havent even learned in school whats worst is that teachers dont seem to care what they set for their students it also doesnt help that the creators of sparx maths have made so that you have to complete all of the homework 100% meaning if there is a question where someone is stuck the can be at it for hours and if you get it wrong three times in a row sparx will make it so that it will recycle the question giving you a completely different one to answer. THE PLATFORM TRULY SUCKS LIKE ITS SO BAD THAT A TEENAGER COULD DEVELOP A BETTER WEBSITE THAN SPARX PLEASE LISTEN TO ME AND WHATEVER YOU DO SIGN A PETITION IF IT COMES YOUR WAY SAYING BAN SPARX LEARING FROM SCHOOLS OR JUST MAKE ONE . thank you for reading my review --- wemmbu :]

The update made it very worse and the topics now say “Task 1” “task [number]” and YOU DON’T EVEN KNOW WHAT THE TOPIC IS ABOUT. Also, WHAT IN THE WORLD WHY WOULD YOU NEED FLASHCARDS IN SPARX???!! This website is disappointing.

Sparx Maths is the embodiment of war without reason. Sparx Maths markets itself as a modern, intelligent solution for maths education. In reality, the overwhelming consensus from students is that Sparx is not simply ineffective - it is actively damaging. Across hundreds of reviews, Sparx is described as torture, stress‑inducing, educationally useless, and psychologically harmful. With a Trustpilot score of 1.1 out of 5 and 96% one‑star reviews , the verdict is not mixed or ambiguous. It is unanimous: Sparx Maths is horrendous. One of the most universally hated aspects of Sparx is its obsession with 100% completion. Students repeatedly describe the system as demanding absolute perfection, punishing even a single mistake. As one reviewer states, “If you don't get 100% on Sparx maths homework, my school punishes you, and this happens everywhere else.” Another reviewer summarises the emotional impact of this design: “Every week it is like torture. I am genuinely getting grey hairs as a kid from the stress.” This is not education. This is coercion disguised as learning. Sparx’s “three‑attempts then reset” mechanic is equally destructive. Students lose all their working, all their progress, and all their confidence. One reviewer explains the absurdity: “Oh yes, did I mention the fact Sparx resets the question after 3 attempts? So all your working is redundant?” Another reviewer describes the emotional fallout: “I remember getting so mad at Sparx Math I would scream at my laptop every time it changed my question.” When a homework platform causes screaming, crying, and panic, something has gone catastrophically wrong. A homework platform should teach. Sparx does not. Students repeatedly emphasise that Sparx provides no explanations, no correct answers, and no meaningful feedback. One reviewer puts it bluntly: “When you get a question wrong, it doesn't even tell you the answer or how you would figure it out.” Another reviewer describes the videos - supposedly Sparx’s teaching tool - as “useless… AI-generated crap” and “the worst nasal voices… extremely annoying to listen to.” Even worse, the videos often don’t match the question the student is stuck on. As one reviewer writes: “They skipped the part I was MOST confused on… how do you do working and NEVER explain why you did it?” This is not just bad pedagogy - it is the absence of pedagogy. The emotional language used by students is extreme, consistent, and alarming. Sparx is described as: “life‑ruining” “stress-inducing, annoying, and unhelpful” “torture” “a living hell” “a torture device” These are not isolated complaints. They are the dominant theme across hundreds of reviews. One student recounts crying in Year 7 because of Sparx: “Useless videos… had me in actual tears when I was in year seven.” Another reviewer describes the psychological collapse Sparx induces: “That last 20 minutes you spent crying and sobbing and swearing to all the gods above?” When a platform causes children to cry, panic, scream, and lose their love of learning, it is not simply flawed -it is harmful. Beyond emotional harm, Sparx is riddled with technical failures. Students report: Incorrect marking of correct answers Buggy interface Random question changes Inconsistent logic One reviewer describes a shocking example: “I got asked ‘what is 200+400’. I put 600 and it told me wrong. I put 700 and it says correct.” Another reviewer summarises the platform’s technical quality: “The website is poorly executed.” If a maths platform cannot reliably add 200 and 400, it has no business being used in schools. The flashcard system is one of Sparx’s most despised additions. Students describe it as: “actual poo” “I REALLY HATE THE FLASHCARD FEATURE IT TAKES TOO LONG.” “Wtf. What The Actual Freak.” Flashcards are supposed to reinforce learning. Instead, they reinforce frustration. Perhaps the most damning indictment is that Sparx drives students to cheat — not because they want to, but because the system is impossible to complete honestly. One reviewer admits: “Basically everyone in my class just uses Google Lens to do it because it's just impossible.” Another reviewer states: “It promotes that you should cheat on assignments as it takes hours to complete normally.” When a homework platform incentivises dishonesty, it has failed at its most basic purpose. The desperation is palpable. Students are not simply complaining - they are pleading. "For the love of God!!!! Somebody shut this website down!" "END OUR SUFFERING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" "You will make students suffer if you use this" One reviewer even compares Sparx to literal torture devices: “I would rather put myself through every Saw trap in the entire franchise than do my homework ever again.” God save us from 1984
