I've been a platinum member of Mackenzie-Childs ' reward program since I discovered the retailer. I agree with the customer service reviews. They are rude and dismissive. This happened this year, 2026. I commented often before this past year, complimenting customer service. This year, when I tried to enquire about my free freight coupon, I was rudely told that it was a once-in-a-lifetime deal. I argued it was listed on my rewards dashboard with no caveat. The rewards program was changed; I assume after new ownership. The program reduced customer rewards. I decided to be cautious with future purchases. I am certain that in 2027 I will lose my platinum status. Their loss, not mine. Several of their handmade ceramic pieces can be purchased on Instagram and other sites at a significant cost reduction. The products are made in another country. My associates tell me the product is the same. The value of the original hand-painted ceramic treasure plummets. Mackenzie touts their ceramic products as "collectors' items". The consumer decides on the longevity of a product. Think about toys, baseball cards, dolls, sterling silverware, and other products which have not held their value. M-C may suffer the same fate, especially if customer service is abysmal.

I purchased a MacKenzie-Childs outdoor bird feeder for $129.95. After filling it with bird seed only twice, the top rusted shut and can no longer be opened without damaging the product, making it unusable. This product is specifically marketed as an outdoor bird feeder, so I expected it to withstand normal outdoor conditions. I live in central Illinois, and the bird feeder was used as intended. I have owned many outdoor bird feeders over the years and have never experienced anything like this. When I contacted MacKenzie-Childs, I was told that because the bird feeder had been exposed to the elements, there was nothing they could do and that I should have applied a rust protectant before using it. I do not believe it is reasonable to expect customers to apply additional rust protection to a premium-priced outdoor bird feeder. I am disappointed that MacKenzie-Childs has declined to stand behind the quality of its product. I am requesting that the company provide an appropriate remedy for what I believe is a defective product.

Extremely disappointed with this company. I expected much better service for a premium brand, but Amber from customer service was incredibly unprofessional and did absolutely nothing to try and keep my business. They clearly do not care about customer retention. There are so many better stores and unique options out there-look elsewhere.

Mackenzie childs does not honor sale price. I purchased item full price 2 days before it went on sale and company said I could not get sale price. I will not order from this company again.

If I could put zero stars I would. You can’t call them you can only contact them by email and their response time is 24-48 hours. They charged two of my credit cards for one item and my CC’s accepted both cards and I’m only buying one item. They stink!!!

Overpriced junk that not even the company stands behind. Terrible customer service. Useless “assistance”. “Quality”is at the rank of garbage. Buyer beware.

I bought a teapot last year and having a problem with the handle falling. Wrote to them and was told there is no way to tighten the pivots. I guess it’s like saying tuff luck. To spend over $100 on a teapot and falls apart in less than a year should not happen. Save your money.
