Different Buses and Lack of Ice
We rented two party busses to take up an hour and a half outside of NYC to the Hudson River Valley. I called no less than 5 times to confirm that we would have PLENTY of ice on both buses and we would be bringing PLENTY of alcohol. I was assured all 5 times that ice is absolutely something that is standard, and then reassured that the booking representative spoke with the dispatch themselves to verify that the buses would have ice. When the buses arrived, only one of them had ice, and the driver said he wasn't told to bring any. And the one that did have ice, had enough for--maybe--20 drinks, on a bus that sat 35 people. I flipped OUT. The driver tried to convince me the ice well was much deeper than it looked, and it wasn't. It was just as shallow as it looked and we ran out of ice within the first 50 miles. The second bus not only had no ice at all, but it was in COMPLETE disrepair. Absolutely GHETTO. It was tattered and scraped up and the tinting was torn it was and claustrophobic--by no means sat 35 people--and turned into a matter of "how do I convince people to get on this bus"? It truly looked like an 80s porn van and I was disgusted. I wasn't compensated in the least when I called to complain, I was offered an apology and an explanation of how they are a company that uses contracted vans and operated through a dispatch system. Poor business.
