Lumiere EducationReviews of lumiere-education.com

Lumiere is an excellent place to learn not only about research but also about topics that you are deeply passionate about. Through the process you're guide by people that make it more enjoyable.

Overall, the Lumiere experience was great, and I think it taught me a lot about research as a whole and all the aspects that go into conducting a fully developed research paper. Throughout my experience, my program manager as well as the writing team were very valuable in providing feedback and got back to me in a very timely manner. I would recommend this to anyone looking to conduct research in science fields because this program broadened my knowledge significantly, as well as teaching me other important life skills like time management, responsiveness, etc.

For me, the Lumiere Individual Research Program was an academically challenging and truly enjoyable experience. I specifically was really pleased with my mentor match and really appreciated that everyone I came in contact with through Lumiere seemed genuinely interested in helping me formulate a research paper that I was proud of. I appreciated having milestone deadlines throughout, as these ensured that the workload was evenly spread out through the 12 weeks. I also found the Scholar Guidebook and often referred to it for instructions and resources. I do think some of the resources could have been provided in a more organized manner. For example, I would have really appreciated being informed of the content in all three workshops right at the beginning as while the information in the workshops were helpful, I'd often receive them after I'd completed the section discussed in the workshop. I think there is a lot of support and information for the earlier sections, but could do more with the later ones (ie., how to write a conclusion and discussion). Overall, I really appreciated the way this program pushed me to my limits without ever feeling to stressful or constraining, allowing me to explore and research my field of choice freely, but still teaching me new skills in academic writing.

Experience at Lumiere The entire journey right from the first session to the final submission of the paper was a massive learning opportunity for me. From studying about researching techniques to attending formal writing workshops and learning how to correct my paper, I enjoyed the whole process. Truly a great opportunity.

My experience of writing a research paper with Lumiere was unforgettable and filled to the brim with learning! Firstly, the initial interview to decide on my area of research to be matched with my mentor was a good ice-breaker for the program because we covered all the options of study I was considering. There were no neglected ideas and more were always welcome. Secondly, my mentor was a huge reason I loved working with Lumiere. We addressed every idea I had in relation to the field of psychology. And, even though my mentor revealed she was unfamiliar with certain aspects I wanted to research, she encouraged me to do it because she saw I was passionate about combining English and psychology. Ultimately, it was an exciting project to get to work on collaboratively! She also kept communication lines open throughout the three months of the program, which was a huge relief in case any doubts came up in between our weekly meetings.

Well-structured research program with excellent mentor matching and additional writing support for submitting a paper. However, it became very difficult to contact the mentor towards the end; the submission of my paper was delayed by a few weeks.

I really enjoyed the overall experience, I just found it difficult to keep up with so many emails I was sent from so many different people. It was also difficult due to there not being a set website to go to for everything.
