SAVE YOUR MONEY
SAVE YOUR MONEY, SHOP ELSEWHERE! How to I describe Living Spaces? 1. Deceptive sales tactics 2. Store management staff that doesn't stand behind the products they sell 3. A warranty program that is a complete joke 4. A company you cannot call and deal with over the phone at a local level as you have to physically go to the store to get any resolution because every time they try to transfer you from the 800 number to the local store they have a "technical issue." Cliff notes of situation: We spent thousands of dollars on a sectional couch that we received in April which is now basically trash due to the cheap fabric that stains from just water. The company won't do the right thing in backing a bad product so we end up here informing other consumers to avoid what we went through. Not interested in more details? Save time, money, and frustration and shop elsewhere. Want to join me for more details? Grab a beverage, sit back, and enjoy.... We purchased a couch in January 2022 which we did not receive until April 2022 (no issue here as we knew that expectation). During the purchase process, we expressed multiple times that we needed a couch with a fabric that was either stain resistant or something that had a stain protectant on the fabric. We purchased couches in years past where paying for a spray on protectant was an option. During the purchase process, we were assured by the rep that a protectant would not be needed and that the fabric would be fine. The rep said that if we were worried about stains occurring that we should get their Care Free Plan which is their extended warranty. Stains were going to be no issue. Couch arrives and did fine for the first couple months. We have kids and dogs so of course accidents are going to happen, but HEY! Why worry?! The opening sentence of the ABOUT CARE FREE sections says, and I quote: The Care Free Plan is a contract designed to protect your new home furniture investments from life's messy moments. Coverage includes accidental stains, rips, burns and other damage to indoor furniture, outdoor furniture, rugs and adjustable bases. It provides coverage for 5 years post-purchase. You'll have 30 days from the discovery of damage to report a claim. Over the past month we have had rings and spots starting to appear on the couch. I make a claim as instructed, and they inform us that the stains had to have been from over 30 days, and they are declining the warranty. This four month old couch now looks like it's years old.... I take it to the store level and am told by the store manager....we'll call him Johnny...that he's sorry, but there's nothing he can do except refund the cost of the warranty which is a whopping few hundred bucks. Johnny also explained that it's not his sales reps jobs to explain details of the warranty to their customers and that the customers should go home and do all the research on their own. Which basically tells you right there that the reps are instructed to say whatever they need to in order for them to close the sell of the product and warranty. Living Spaces may have a nice looking store with a kid area and a bar. Beyond that, it's a warehouse of cheap product that doesn't deserved to be purchased. If you do decide to roll the dice, make sure you make a warranty claim one to times per month, every month, every year that you own the piece of furniture to ensure that it stays in tip-top shape.....unless they have a limitation as to how many warranty claims you can make....which I'm not sure of because I didn't dig that deep.....but is it really worth it to find out if the "high end product" needs that much maintenance from a consumer? Probably not. Best of luck consumers!
