From the moment I experienced her energy, honesty and brilliance, I knew instantly that she was an “off the charts” motivator who is grounded in the truth of what it takes to overcome obstacles in life and in work. I took EPM a year ago and it helped me vastly improve my small group online coaching and training program. I found the training to be comprehensive and well-structured. While I did hit points of overwhelm during the program, I found those moments revealed an area of inexperience or fear and I felt like I was able to get support to move through them. I'm a relationship coach. I've been doing in-person workshops across the country for over 10 years. I've been wanting to offer an online program. I quickly learned that it's a different experience from a weekend workshop and harder than I expected. I couldn't just pour my content into a new format and have it work seamlessly. I've struggled to fill my online program, had higher drop-off than expected, and when I ask for constructive feedback, they're at a loss to come up with specific complaints or tell me how it can be improved such that they would want to continue. Marisa was recommended to me by my own business coach as the best training out there for designing programs. EPM is itself an online program and exemplifies all of the methods it teaches. Again and again I kept thinking, holy moly this is so well-constructed! I was immediately engaged and highly motivated to work though the modules. The basic premise of EPM is how to solve exactly the problem I was facing. What makes a program just another thing people sign up for but never finish? What compels people to really put it to use and get a ton of value? I know my content is good, but what about design, the structure, the flow, the tech, the support, basically everything that goes into the user experience? EPM is very thorough. It covers everything I can think of. For example it goes over several different ways to market, what each one is best for, and how to use it. It walks us through several (actually useful) exercises to think through our customer's journey and how our program fits into the bigger picture of our business. And, of course, all the factors that typically either kill or promote engagement. Pretty sure nobody approaches it the way she does, and my own experience as a participant in a program designed on these principles is an example of how effective it is. It had a huge impact on how I designed, sold, and ran my program and the results were night and day. People loved it, engagement and completion was much higher, I felt like I knew how to run a program that builds momentum the way my live events do. Five stars and yes, high recommendations from me.

I was part of the 2016 first cohort of Experience Product Masterclass. Marisa produces possibly the sleekest and best sales pages in the world. Read VERY carefully because the marketing does not come close to the delivery, or is worded very carefully to make you expect more than what will be delivered. It's worded in such a way that you'll be getting a substantial amount of 1-on-1 time with a coach, which is not true in reality (2 15-minute private calls over 8 weeks were insufficient to describe issues and goals in depth). If you experience problems with completing the avalanche of assignments on time, YOU are blamed for not being able to complete all of the work on time. The biggest issue I had was the crux of the program, which is to create and sell a product before it is completed. No can do--I discovered that I just couldn't do it because if I were a paying customer, I would expect some level of expertise and experience, thought, and care to have gone into a product or service, no matter how new it was. The customer service team was another thing to experience. One of the coaches at the time, Christine, was super sweet while the program went on. But watch out if you have problems or try to get a refund. She suddenly becomes the opposite of warm and helpful. Marisa was very "blunt" with unhappy students at the end of the program too. The attitude was, "Gee, the program is over after 8 weeks--I'm outta here and on to my next money-making course!" I got the impression that this program was mainly a way to upsell unsuspecting customers into higher-ticket items ($10K package, or $60/month subscription to Heroic platform--you can get other high quality platforms for a fraction of the price). If anything, this program taught me how to NOT be a coach.

The Good I promised to be honest and unbiased Experience Product Masterclass Review. So I have to tell you that Experience Product Masterclass program is chock full of useful information. You can learn a lot from it. And the information is given in a masterfully made videos. But the chances that you will be able to digest, assimilate and use this information within 10 weeks, especially if you have never created an information product before are slim to none. The Bad I made the mistake to buy the Experience Product Masterclass in 2017. And I believed Marisa Murgatroyd. I bought the seductive advertising and the sleek marketing dreams she so masterfully sells. She is good at marketing. No doubt about it. But not so good on delivering on her promises. Read further! The Facts 540 people bought the program in 2017 and were members of the Experience Product Masterclass Facebook group. Most of them reported feeling overwhelmed and even on the verge of being burned out by the shear volume of work they had to do during the 10 weeks. We were told that we had to work only an hour a day or 7 hours per week to be able to implement the program. That was so far from the truth as it could be. I worked somewhere between 5 and 7 hours per day, 7 days a week and still could not complete the program on time. And I was not the only one. Keep reading. Marisa Murgatroyd extended the original 10 weeks period to mission accomplished to 11 weeks but this did not help much. The guarantee agreement document we had to sign up was ridiculously complex and very few people could claim on it after the end of the program. The Big Promise Marisa Murgatroyd claimed over 80% of successful completion of the program, which meant that over 80% of the participants would have reached mission accomplished within 10 weeks period and would have made at least $2000, which was the cost of the program. She also claimed that only about 3% of the buyers of information products complete these programs successfully. Where did this claim come from from? While writing this Experience Product Masterclass Review I learned that in 2017 Marisa ran EPM for a second time. She had run it before with hand full of entrepreneurs, about 20 I think, some of which were now hired as coaches to the 2017 group. I guess the results of this SMALL group of EXPERIENCED entrepreneurs is where she got her above 80% success claim from. But it is one thing to work with a small group of people where you can give each one a lot of personal attention. And it is another to work with large group of inexperienced people where each one needs a lot of personal attention, but has no way to get enough of it. We were divided in groups of about 50. And to each group was assigned a coach who was to do a group session once a week and answer unlimited emails. The support we got from the coach in our group was not sufficient for most people in the group. 2 weeks after module 2 during the group calls people were still asking questions about module 1 and 2. And in modules 1 and 2 the foundation of your product creation is laid. Reality Check Well here is the bitter truth. Only 4% of the 540 people in last years Experience Product Masterclass reported successful completion of the program. even after the 11th week. Most the people who made it to the “Hall of Fame” (the list of Experience Product Masterclass program buyers who have created a product and sold it for $2,000 or more within the 11 weeks) had previous experience in creating digital information products, or just tweaked their existing products according to Marisa’s lessons. They also had decent lists of prospects and social media followings. The rest of us, who did not have experience, list and followers were left wondering what, where and when we did wrong and why we did not get the success of the 4% lucky winners. Just to be offered more of the same training for a year instead of 10 weeks and for heftier price of course. The Shortcoming A paramount ingredient the Experience Product Masterclass program lacks is a Good Mindset Module. The program has a mindset module but it is not very useful. Marisa Murgatroyd recognizes the importance of the mindset in the entrepreneurial world. She admits it is a foundational peace of the business success. But as almost any other program that teaches you how to succeed online in her mindset module she tells you what your mindset should be. She teaches you to suck it up, to toughen up. That you should not despair and that you should follow through and be persistent, but she does not give you the tools to do so. She just gives you a pep talk. And that is not enough. The program is too intense to be completed in 10 weeks. 6 months would be a better time frame for it.
