They use USPS for shipping, so the gardenia I ordered for my mother showed up late and in bad shape. To which they responded it was within the shipping window. Also the service they use will just tell you it's arriving late apparently. If that was the case, the plant should have been provided better water. The engraved graphic I added was supposed to be on the pot. It was on a little card in the box. While the experience wasn't a total loss, I won't use them again.

I have received three plants that were in very poor condition. They sent a replacement code so hopefully the new plants will arrive in better condition.

Plant had multiple brown leaves. The ones that were still green were all bent. Reviews on websites were all positive. They don’t publish the bad ones. They didn’t publish mine I even posted pictures. The one star is for timely delivery. That’s the only positive thing I can say.

Good overall. Looks nice and does the job, but it didn’t quite meet my expectations. Decent, not great.

Updating my review after receiving an email from another customer service person after seeing my initial review. This person's response was the one that should have been first. Good effort in recovery. The poor plant's condition upon arrival was properly acknowledged and accounted for. I was given a full refund. The plant arrived still bent, but not where it actually snapped and broke. It stood back up and it's been fine ever since. This is my second purchase from Livelyroot from a gift card I was given. The bird of paradise is a tall plant but livelyroot didn't put it in an appropriately sized box, instead, they bent the tallest stem to fit into the box and now, that stem is as good as gone and I'm left to cross my fingers and hope for the best with the remainder. I contacted the company and they offered their apologies ay blamed it on shipping & handling and/or the weather. No, my poor plant was stuffed into a box that was too small. I reiterated that and they offered 20% off, but I requested 30% off because this didn't happen during transit, they knowingly stuffed a tall stem into a too small box. This was a less than pleasant experience with this company. I still have room left on the gift card so I'll have to get one more plant from them. Also, they did not publish my honest review to their website. Very peculiar.

EDITED: Updated to increase the stars to 3. Received a refund and finally spoke to a person who wasn’t rude and condescending, and actually worked to understand the situation instead of accusing me of not reading the fine print to study their complicated shipping policies/times. This person also changed their Yelp name back to Lively Root. Someone higher up seems to care about their reputation but the first line customer service employees absolutely do not. Original review: Ordered a plant to be delivered for Father’s Day for $33 overnight shipping. The website said it would arrive on Father’s Day or the day after. Two days after Father’s Day the plant finally shipped and doesn’t arrive for 6 days after purchase. Lively Root claims I didnt read the fine print which included their 2 day handling times, which I didn’t see anywhere on the checkout page at all, but plainly saw the dates their website said the plant would be delivered in red print. So they charged overnight shipping costs to ship my item for it to arrive a week later. I also left a Yelp review and the next day they had changed the name from Lively Root to something else. It feels like a very shady company.

Deceptive shipping times, they have huge banners that state one thing that you can click, and then when they don't arrive on the stated time they say you should of read their fine print about their shipping policies. Give me a break, deceptive is deceptive, I don't care what's in your fine print. If you have a big yellow button that says it will arrive on a date, and I click it I expect it to arrive on that date. Despite what's in your shipping policies. Update: they did acknowledge their mistake and give me a full refund so I'm upping the rating to a 3.

I used to order from them often, but over the last year the plant quality has been terrible. I recently posted a review on the website of the plant that I received last week and they filter the reviews. My review never showed up and all they have are 5 star reviews. I ordered a small snake plant in a basket. The basket quality was awful! The plant leaves had large cracks in them.
