While my relationship with Linode was short, I must commend them for providing an excellent and reliable service for hosting various games and services. One of the standout aspects of their service is their reliability, which translates to great uptime for my hosted games and services. I never had to worry about frequent downtime or interruptions, allowing for a truly seamless experience. Another positive aspect worth mentioning is the scalability of Linode's infrastructure. As a growing business I appreciated the fact that there was always room to expand to even more powerful hardware or roll out additional nodes as needed. This flexibility gave me the peace of mind that my hosting needs could be easily accommodated in the future without any major disruptions. In terms of server management, Linode made it incredibly easy to deploy new servers or upgrade existing ones with minimal downtime. Their user-friendly interface and intuitive control panel streamlined the process, allowing me to quickly set up new servers as per my requirements. This agility was particularly beneficial when I needed to scale up resources or accommodate sudden spikes in traffic. I never had to worry about extended periods of downtime during these upgrades, which was a significant advantage for my business. During my interaction with Linode, I had the opportunity to engage with both their sales and support teams. I found their sales representatives to be helpful and friendly, although there were instances where they seemed slightly out of touch with the capabilities of the current platform. Ultimately it turned out I would need to find a different host for the specific features I required for my organization. Linode offers a wide range of VPS solutions that cater to the needs of many users at various price points. I was pleasantly surprised to find that even their 'Low Tier' servers were equipped with modern and performant CPUs. This level of performance exceeded my expectations and showcased the quality of their infrastructure. It's worth noting that while Linode excels in cloud server offerings, they currently do not provide bare metal servers as part of the Akamai/Linode infrastructure (assuming Akamai is the new brand moving forward, I’m not certain of the details of that transition). Lastly, I would like to highlight the exceptional support provided by Linode's team. The support staff demonstrated a high level of knowledge and professionalism, and I always received prompt responses to my queries or issues. This level of support instilled confidence in me as a customer, knowing that I could rely on their expertise whenever I encountered any challenges. TLDR: Linode offers excellent and reliable hosting services for games and other applications. They have great uptime and scalability, making it easy to expand as needed. Deploying and managing servers is simple with their user-friendly interface. The sales team is helpful but may lack knowledge about certain features, so it's important to ensure their current offerings meet your specific requirements. Linode's VPS solutions provide high-performance CPUs even in their low-tier servers. They excel in cloud server offerings but currently do not provide bare metal servers. The support team is knowledgeable and provides prompt assistance, instilling confidence in customers.

Bis jetzt bin ich sehr zufrieden. Leider kann ich meinen Vorrednern hier nicht ganz zustimmen. Akamai ist ein sehr großes Hosting Unternehmen, viele Kunden aus dem Enterprise Bereich sind hier gehostet z.B. die Deutsche Bahn. Von Linode bzw. Akamai einen Preis zu verlangen wie von Strato, Hetzner, Contabo und Co ist denke ich grundsätzlich der falsche Ansatz. Akamai betreibt sehr aktuelle Systeme, so bekommt man anders als bei anderen Anbietern hier auch top aktuelle Milan CPUs von AMD, sehr gut! Viele scheine hier zu vergessen, dass der Preis unterschied von einer Rome und Milan CPU gigantisch ist, teilweise mehrere hundert Prozent teurer. Daher sind die virtuellen Maschinen, welche man bei Linode anmieten kann, auch ein Stück teurer, zu Recht wohlgemerkt! Die Systeme sind nicht ganz billig, aber die Infrastruktur unten drunter macht einfach den Unterschied. Über DDOS Attacken mache ich mir gerade bei Akamai recht wenig sorgen, da das hauseigene Netz so gigantisch ist, dass quasi jeder Angriff, jeder Größe abgefiltert werden kann. Sowas können sonst nur Anbieter wie CloudFlare von sich sagen. Nebendran betreibt Akamai noch eines der, wenn nicht sogar das größte CDN weltweit. Auch die Anbindungen in andere Regionen ist meist sehr gut, in der Regel hab ich hier mehrere Gigabit in Europa und den USA und so knapp 1 Gbit nach Asien. So eine Abdeckung wird man bei anderen Anbietern nicht finden, bzw. vermutlich, nur wenn man in die Richtung GCP, Azure und AWS guckt, welche nochmal deutlich teurer sind. Wer ein paar Euro als Privatanwender zu viel hat, der wird mit Linode sicherlich glücklich, auch wenn ich mir persönlich noch das ein oder andere Feature wünschen würde, wie z.B. RWX Support für den LKE Stack. Zusammengefasst ein guter Anbieter mit ein wenig Luft nach oben, was die Features angeht ;) weiter so!

Lots to like with them after moving from a competitor. Value pricing and they are way better at batting off fake DMCA notices and take due care to only follow through if it's correct and valid. Other hosts take clearly abusive reports and treat them seriously.

Good experience. I have had several linodes over many years and have had no issues with their support or payment handling. The servers have been reliable and downtime has been negligible. My over-all experience is positive and good.

Well linode is ok!! but they need to be a little faster with the support so i -1 star due to the fact that support could be slow. but it's 100% human support so that is expected. You need to have some basic knowledge on linux os. It's not for newbies . Since its not fully managed like other hosting providers. I think most of the negative reviews are bit misleading since it hold no real bases . Linode is pretty very much reliable. It's very easy to use. For newbies please use the marketplace . it makes life much easier for you. For experts Installing your own distro . is better for me. Anyways 4 out of 5. Linode is ok.!

They are pretty expensive, and VPS performance has lots of room for improvement, but overall it's an efficient solution for servers. Staff are friendly. Will probably use again in the future.

I've been using Linode sporadically. Mostly I've been using the Linode boxes to test custom things and weekend projects. Now I'm using cloud storage, had some issues setting it up, but now it is up and running. There are far newer things to try out , but I still don't have the time to try them out. Pricing is really addecuate.
