My direct personal experience would award them 3 stars, but because they have a bad reputation of dealing with spammers, which may affect you indirectly, I will only give them 2. They have a good uptime, intuitive user interface and an easy setup process. Customer service responds within a reasonable time frame. However ... I bought a machine for the purpose of running an email server. Unfortunately, it was provided with an IP that has previously been involved in spams and is therefore registered in a lot of spam blacklists, often making it impossible to send mail to some users. When I pointed this out to their customer service, they said that I need to buy another machine and hope that the next IP is better. So it is basically a gamble if it will work or not. Some blacklists seem to even be suspicious of any mail server hosted with Linode, because they are accused of being too slow when reacting to spammers abusing their services.

I dont want to say it but they scamed me so i was using linode and lastly i cancelled account due to fund problems but i reconsidered as i still has funds so try to re sign up again and again still rejected as fraud wth how does i fraud on you company i contacted them waited and wait nope no answer so I don't recommend it at all i use them for 1-2 month and they doing this on me why dude (I'm Non United States user idk why)

I've been a linode user for my various websites, test servers and backups for about 5 years. It was really a good move from previous vendors. However, since Akamai merged, support has disappeared. I can do better myself. For example, hotmail recently unleashed a barrage of unwarranted IP blocks, one of which hit the linode server I use as a dedicated website. There is no spam registered for any of the IPs in the range. Of course, reaching MS for the issue replies with a canned response. Linode simply parrots the same canned response and does nothing for its users. It simply lets Microsoft block IPs without question, without action, without any sense of urgency to the business or commerce effects. Linode/Akamai does not seem to be interested in fixing or finding out why or approaching a higher tier level of support. In fact, when I asked for copies of actions taken, Linode simply displayed the same canned email forms I used with MS. Linode/Akamai has no ability to solve a simple problem like this so my recommendation is to stay away, find a provider that is big enough to at least talk to the postmasters of companies blocking their own services. When they can't do that, they have no value and your business will suffer when support can't fix basic things like a unsubstantiated block. Anyone can sit around collecting monthly subscriptions but users expect more from a Linode/Akamai combo. Shame on Akamia/Linode support.

Works fine. Until you need support. I have been a customer from more than 10 years, have a dozen of VMs with them. Product is overall ok. But they are very, very bad at support. My main VM went down today because of some HW issue, they simply don't answer any messages, I don't have any idea on what they are doing and for how long we'll be out. Awful communication. And it was the same on previous issues. Can't recommend them, and will have to find an alternative.

En terminos es bueno pero trae consigo fallas, lo bueno es que puede bajar el precio de tu maquina si en caso no esta sastifecho pero trae consigo errores aveces no se enciende se trava y lo peor elimine los servidores pero no se eliminaron , deje de usarlo, para luego dame cuenta que me estaba cobrando a escondidas , pero bueno cada uno tiene su propio opinion yo solo cuento mi experiencia, me quitaro dinero nisiquiera le usaba xd

We joined Linode in December 2019. The sign-up process was easy and we deployed multiple Linux VMs into Dallas, Frankfurt and Singapore. After testing we migrated our services from another provider to Linode. Everything was fine for a little while, then the issues started. There are 2 main problems on Linode: 1) System Maintenance: When Linode performs system maintenance (planned or emergency) it usually results in VMs being shutdown or restarted. Often "emergency maintenance" includes shutdown of VMs resulting in outages without notice. This happens regularly and by the time Linode issues a notice, the maintenance has already started, making it too late to do anything about it. These outages are accompanied with the following message: "We have been alerted to an issue affecting the physical host on which your Linode resides. To resolve this, the host requires emergency maintenance that must be performed immediately." 2) Connectivity Issues: Regular interruptions at the network layer results in high latency and complete outages. VMs may stay up, however they are not reachable. Emergency Maintenance accounted for 5 outages between April and August 2020. Then in September the outages started in Singapore followed by more outages in Dallas. We ended up moving Dallas to another provider and that resolved the issue whilst providing our business with stability. Then the Singapore outages increased, one of them involved a switch problem then additional interruptions in November. In December we experienced 4 outages in a week. Our customers were angry. We confronted Linode who could not provide any explanation - nothing, not even a hint of what the problem was. After almost a week with no explanation (Linode was "still waiting on a post mortem") AND outages continued (clearly the issue was ongoing and not resolved), we decided that was enough punishment to our business. We moved the remaining VMs to another provider. Problem solved. We would have moved earlier, however our VMs run a custom application that has static configuration and is time consuming to modify. In hindsight we should have moved much sooner as the pain and suffering from outage after outage was affecting our staff and customers. It's probably best to stay away from Linode at least until they get their network and hypervisor infrastructure under control and return stability to their service offering. EDIT: 12 hours after I posted this review, I received this from Linode - another outage. Connectivity Issue - Singapore New incident: Investigating Our team is investigating a connectivity issue in our Singapore data center. During this time, users may experience connection timeouts and errors for all services deployed in this data center. We will share additional updates as we have more information.

If your application requires high uptime don't use Linode. In the 3 months I used Linode, they abruptly shutdown my machines and migrated them to different hardware multiple times. Prices are lower than others, but you get what you pay for

I signed up for a contract. First awkward surprise: they want me to send passport and credit card copies. Say again? Nobody ever asked me this for a measly 10$/a month.. Second awkward surprise: The link they provided to send my passport copy to, does not accept attachments of 1.1MB... Get your act together! At this point it was time to vote with my feet: walk away.
