I purchased the liftmaster 8500w and it is absolute garbage. The door bounces back constantly. You cannot drive away until you are sure the door will remain close. There is no way to manually adjust the sensitivity and forget about technical support. The opener is so bad that my wife and I must coordinate to get our vehicles in and out of the garage because we aren’t sure when and if the door opener will perform as it should. If you want to avoid aggravation stay away from this garbage door opener.

I have owned my brand new house for less than 4 years. My liftmaster 8500w has never worked properly even though I have replaced the mother board twice, wall opener unit once and had a technician out to fix the problem 4 times. I have also spent many hours talking to the technicians at Liftmaster, including three times today and twice being hung up on and finally the technician telling me that he wasn't able to help me.

Had a complete garage install 3 years ago by One Clear Choice, Colorado Springs CO with LiftMaster product. Install was everything, electronics/electrical, hardware, railing, insulated door. Since install, I’ve had nuisance operations, door not fully closing or opening when commanded. I’m now approximately $5K in for the whole process after 3 service calls, I could have made calls more BUT I dealt with the defective LiftMaster unit. Today I spent $1000 to have all electronics/electrical components replace after 3 years, SHAME ON YOU LIFTMASTER, THAT’S BULLSHIT!

Horribly noisy unit comparing it to the same one year older model. Customer service says it’s normal over the phone without hearing it in person!! I went ahead and asked the installer to replace it and the second one is exactly the same. I’m so sorry that I picked the same model and brand for my second garage door based on my other (2003) experience.

Awful. I called in for help programming a new remote for a garage opener. In getting help with the 2nd non-working remote they sent me, the head unit was somehow reset to factory settings. We called again for help with this, the representative had me push a button and the unit snapped, chain became very tight and proceeded with an hour long phone call in which the representative then told me I broke it, refused to give me his name and made it extremely difficult to get a manager. The initial call was the same, another rude and unhelpful representative. Management no help. I would never recommend this company. My issue is currently unresolved.

REALLY Disappointed with Liftmaster, I have 2 Automotech Ramps in another garage and the purchase of these was seamless and installation seamless however the same cannot be said for the Liftmaster Company , they installed, made a palavar about it and upon delivery of the NEW ramps they showed cosmetic damage. If you are a garage purchasing ramps my advise would NOT to use Liftmaster. It disappointments me greatly to write this review.

Keir and Luke fitted a ramp supplied by motor parts direct, their service was great. Soon got it fitted with very little interruption to the workshop. Great job boys.

The wifi garage door opener has been nothing but trouble from day one. The app is flawed and they've done nothing to fix it in five years. When it's connected it works good, but the problem is getting it corrected. The instructions are not correct and haven't been updated. This last time I contacted support they couldn't even figure it out. 13 days now with no connection, and my garage is 115 degrees, so it makes the situation even worse. I retired with almost 30 years in IT support and nothing I've tried works. This happens every single time it has to be reconnected. How about some detailed troubleshooting steps spec to my device and model that actually works?
