May 12
May 12, 2023 I was given a quote over the phone and given a contract to sign right away. They asked for a down payment to hold the move. I gave them the money right there and then on April 24th. I called 2 days ago May 11 just to check on the dates of departure etc. They then told me it could take up to 31 days. WHAT!! I said, "I'm going without furniture for that long??? Ridiculous I want my deposit back for this trip planned for the June 23 over a month away." You have to cancel within 72 hours and they won't give you a cent back. After reading the contract it actually say 60 days yikes. They said that their in a new law that trucks are not allowed to travel over a certain mileage per day today (this is for the huge van lines with 3-5 different moves in each truck), but that law does not include smaller trucks moving one individual household. My suggestion this is a second part company with all sorts of hidden costs etc etc. Go with a local smaller company that their own boss. I asked for my deposit back they said no way read the contract. Well I will definitely do that but they don't tell you anything until the money is safe after 72 hours.
