Anti-glare protective coding defect
I bought my first pair of glasses from LensCrafters and 17 months later I noticed the non-reflective coating coming off the lenses. At first I thought they were just dirty and got something on them. But I continue to clean them with non-alcohol, glasses cleaner, and a microfiber cloth That we purchased from LensCrafters. It seemed like my lenses were getting worse. In April 2024 I’m now close to two years since my purchase of a $600 pair of glasses. When I went to the store in Saint Clairsville, Ohio they told me that , this does happen time to time to lenses but unfortunately unfortunately I have a one-year warranty and there’s nothing they can do about it. I told them that I have three other pairs of glasses at home that I’ve purchased from a different provider over the years that all have the anti-glare, and I’ve never had this problem before . The associate said well we’re running a sale on glasses right now we could give you that sale price but I believe you’re gonna need to buy a new pair of frames and lenses? I like my frames and I feel like they sold me defective lenses. They looked up my prescription and said that the one on file was expired so I went back to my optometrist And asked them to email my most recent prescription that does not expire till August 2024. I came back the next day and spoke to a associate. I told her I had a copy of my most recent prescription. She didn’t even want to look at it . I must’ve had something on my microfiber cloth that caused a problem. I then told her I keep a pair of other glasses in my car and she insinuated that. Did I keep those glasses in my car because being in the car to conscious. The answer was no , I only wear these glasses to bed and I’m very careful with them and keep them in the glasses case. She didn’t tell me about the half off sale and told me the best she could do is takeoff $50 off a brand new pair of glasses and frames . Didn’t offer any other solutions. Wouldn’t take it up the chain. She then told me doesn’t your insurance cover a new pair? She said well most people buy new glasses every year or two so you’re probably due for a new pair. I would never go back to LensCrafters again as I’ve read other reviews now and I truly feel that they do not sell a quality lens Over priced if you have a high index lens. Not a good customer experience.
