Completely Unacceptable AC WARRANTY and Lennar Inaction
Our AC stopped working during a heatwave, and Lennar’s contractor Airtron responded by dropping off a single outdated portable AC unit—completely ineffective for our two-story 3,700+ sq. ft. home. It couldn’t cool even one room, and worse, a family member with a heat sensitivity suffered a severe migraine attack due to the unbearable indoor heat.
Despite repeated requests, Lennar has refused to authorize a different contractor or provide proper temporary cooling. We’ve been stuck dealing with delays, miscommunication, and lack of urgency. This is not what we were promised as new homeowners, especially in the first year of ownership.
Lennar’s failure to address this issue promptly and humanely is beyond disappointing. If you’re considering a Lennar home, ask yourself what kind of service you’d want in an emergency—and know you may not get it here.

Buy a Centex instead
This is my second new construction home so I know how it's supposed to work. The house is supposed to be completed when you get it. Lennar just has jacked policies. The sod isn't in prior to closing. If you have pets, this is insane.
There is shoddy craftsmanship, the blue tape wasn't completed. I'm still finding blue and green tapes around my house. They were lazy about things like not putting anchors in the toilet paper roll holders. In general there are things that just look ugly and slapped together.
My oven leaks gas. I tried to cook for the first time and found myself in a dangerous situation. Everyone tries to pass the buck. Warranty wants the gas company to come check the home. The home just closed and had two inspections, it's not the gas lines. Lennar can't do anything because I already took possession of the house I guess but honestly I feel like gas is one of those things they should really take responsibility on especially in the first 30 days.
They don't include shower or towel bars. Why? Who knows? One more thing for a new homeowner to worry about though. Super annoying.
I bought a Centex home previously, my sod was already in. The house was well crafted, it had shower and towel bars. Oh and no gas leaks. I literally never put in a warranty claim. I've put in at least 5 and I've only lived here a week since I've closed and my oven won't be fixed until next week.
Those in the process of closing, I hope you have better luck. Lennar - y'all need to do so much better.

Hazardous Construction and Zero Accountability Lennar home expecting…
We bought a new Lennar home expecting peace of mind. Instead, we found a gas leak that had likely existed since the day we moved in — exposing our family to serious risk and causing months of elevated gas bills.
When we informed Lennar, they repaired it — but only after being notified. Despite the danger, they refused to take financial responsibility or even acknowledge the stress and potential consequences of their construction error.
This isn't just about warranty terms. It's about basic safety and ethical responsibility. Lennar's lack of care and refusal to address the impact has been truly disappointing.
Buyers beware — you may be paying for more than a house. You could be paying for their mistakes.

Misleading mortgage company
My loan officer was great. Everything else about my experience with Lennar was abysmal. They lied/withheld information until long after they had my earnest money. They waited until after I paid $600 for a third party inspection to say that on top of the down payment, they wanted 2 months worth of mortgage in my bank account, which somehow totaled $17,000 dollars?? The mortgage was going to be less than $2,000, so I have no idea where the $17,000 figure came from. I was told when I applied that all they would need is 30 days of paystubs from my new job after I moved. Then, after I sent weeks gathering all the random paperwork they wanted and stressing over that, less than two weeks from our closing date, they hit me with the "yeah, you need $17,000 in your account on top of the $10,000 you need for the down payment." I am not rich, my family is not rich. I have a good paying job, but it would take at least 4 months of paychecks to total $17,000 IF I didn't have bills like rent of my current residence, car payment, health insurance, etc. How was I supposed to come up with $17,000 in less than two weeks? Who can?? And this was the second home I was under contract with them for. They did paperwork and math incorrectly for the first, and recanted on the approval they had already given me. On top of that, the brand new home I was purchasing had five pages of things that failed the inspection and would have to be fixed prior to sale. So, not only was my experience with every aside from my loan officer abysmal, the house was not even going to be able to be approved for a loan as is. I have absolutely nothing good to say about Lennar. I would leave 0 stars if I could. The only positive I had was my loan officer, who is fighting the team to get my earnest money I paid them already back because they were purposefully misleading. Do not work with them. Do not trust them. They are incredibly misleading and provide all sorts of false information. They cannot be trusted. Do not allow them to run your credit or take your money. They are not worth the risk. If you have literally any other options than Lennar, take them instead. This company has been nothing but frustrating from the start, and their brand new homes aren't even sound. Save yourself the time, trouble, and frustration and find someone else. Their "good rates" and "bonuses" are not worth it, nor are they true. You are better off avoiding them entirely.

I'm in CA bought their new construction…
I'm in CA bought their new construction home in Katy, TX. From the beginning, I informed them that Mobile Closing, and I chose "unable to attend closing" in the LennarTrack portal two weeks before Closing. Title dept set up in-person Closing, which failed. Then it has to move on the next day, which will fall into a new month of April 2025. Then the Sale Rep told me 2% fee ($4800 extra)of the sale price. to keep the house, otherwise the contract will be canceled and I will lose the deposit monies. It wasn't my fault. It was a lack of communication between the Sales Rep and the Title Dept. It was a trap, so beware of in-person or mobile closing. Now I'm going to pursue my right to get the fee $4800 back

Do not buy Lennar
Do not buy Lennar! From debri in sewers, rolling carpet after 2 months, not properly installed. Flooring improperly installed, cheap materials!!! Windows and doors that don’t close or lock properly. Defects in every inside door of the house! Glass Shower doors that fall off and pose a safety hazard…and now after only 3 years a leak in my roof! DO NOT BUY! Also, do not complain to them before your warranty is up and expect anything fixed…well not actually fixed. They will send someone under qualified to fix the issue and they will have to come back repeatedly and the job will never be done right and then poof!!! Your warranty is done and you are taking it in your pocket! DO NOT BUY! And do not file a complaint with the builders assc with the state because they will send the person from their board and he will basically come tell you never to do that again and promise fixes that NEVER HAPPEN! It’s no wonder they had a class action lawsuit in 2018. Buyer BEWARE!!!
