Best choice I could have made!
Joining AIDA was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I was a high achieving teacher who couldn't comfortably set boundaries, and this prevented me from being able to have any semblance of work/life balance. In AIDA, I learned the skills and software needed to transition into instructional design, and perhaps even more importantly, I learned how to say no, set boundaries, and regain confidence. The amount of support offered in AIDA is astounding. Although the work is challenging and there are many hours required to ensure success, there are also lots of opportunities for collaboration, coworking, and coaching. My success advisor, Rayne, lit the fire under my rear when I fell off track and was transparent about what I needed to do to succeed. Leaning into the resources and supports the program provides made it easy to stay accountable and motivated. The program is also super responsive and committed to continuous improvement. After I started in January of 2022, a whole new badge was added to the coursework to give guided support for revising/creating a resume, LinkedIn, portfolio, and for practicing interview skills. There were many smaller tweaks and changes made between when I started and when I ended in October, and watching the program grow and change according to member needs was inspiring. It's cool to see an organization be so open to changing when there is a gap or a need. The trajectory of my life has changed in numerous, overwhelmingly positive ways since starting AIDA. Without it, I would still be working 50-60 hour weeks for no extra pay in a classroom. So glad I made the jump!!
