Customer Operations Needs A Better Support Process
I ordered a new mat and bungees. The mat arrived within a few days, but the bungees took five weeks to arrive. What caused the negative experience was less about the delay itself and more about the lack of communication and adequate support. If your company is experiencing manufacturing or delivery delays, do your customers a favor and reach out to inform them. It's that simple, and it can go a long way toward preventing a negative customer experience. After I reached out to customer service to ask about the delay, I was overpromised on the delivery date twice. By the third time I reached out, I wanted to cancel my order because it seemed customer service simply couldn't provide an accurate or reliable delivery date. In my last email, I even gave the company an opportunity to try to make things right. Something like a partial refund or a credit toward a future purchase could have gone a long way. Instead, I received yet another apology and another delivery update. To be clear, this was not an issue with the customer service representative. The person replying to my emails was timely, professional, friendly, and sincerely apologetic. The issue falls on the shoulders of the Customer Operations. Customers should be informed about backorders. Customer service team members should be given reliable information to share. And if things escalate to the point that a customer wants to cancel an order, do something to keep the customer experience from going completely south. Just my professional opinion, but don't let things get to a place where customers feel the only feedback a company will listen to is a negative public review. As for the rebounder itself, it's actually pretty nice. I like the mat, although the frame has started to squeak over time as the legs have loosened. The handlebar is also pretty wobbly, but it still helps with stability. Overall, it's a nice rebounder, and despite my experience with this particular order, this review shouldn't stop anyone, including me, from purchasing from Leaps and ReBounds again.
