Trying to collect on false loans
I never initiated a loan with this company. In 2021 I began receiving emails and letters showing a payment plan for a loan. Upon contacting I was told that it was a two year old loan and they are collecting now post covid. I disputed directly with Leap Credit. They informed me funds went to a 5 years old and closed account number of mine. They informed me for them to stop collection I needed to dispute with credit agencies. I couldn't, it's not valid or on my credit. I went back and forth with them on a few phone calls, to no avail. Then an email was sent linking to their website with automated settlement options. I weighed the time and cost of court to fight the fraudulent loan and realized I could settle for much less ($200-ish dollars). So I begrudgingly took that option. Received a confirmation of loan PAID OFF and yet two weeks later leap credit reaches out with another email stating my loan is active (for a new amount, mind you) and still showing old closed account info. Scammers if you ask me....

The email you received from our customer service representative was for our Ontrack portal that allows our customers to negotiate a settlement amount that they can afford and close out their outstanding loan. According to our records, the loan is paid off and you also received our congratulatory email.
